Reviews
For our personal situations & requirements we've always had great experiences, help & service at Abbey Dale. The receptionists & nurses in particular have always been incredibly helpful and accommodating. The Drs we've seen / dealt with, including some really good locums of late, have 9 out of 10 times given us the time required, and sorted any further requirements. Only very occasionally had rushed experiences with 1 Doctor.
Terrible service. Both my parents are aging and need to be able to access their doctor. They were constantly being told they could only have a telephone appointment even though my Dad had been admitted to hospital a couple of times. Their medication hadn't been reviewed for a long time and were just given the same high doses everytime. They were spoken to like they were an inconvenience. This has led to them moving surgeries recently and this has proved very positive as there has been more issues dealt with in a few weeks than in a few years at this surgery. If you feel you're not being looked after by people who are suppose to be looking after you, change surgery.
Absolutely terrible,no one knows what they are doing, nill communication between the staff,I don't know where the Drs are, hiding away,do not enrole at this terrible surgery.
When our surgery closed we were automatically changed over to this one.. The receptionists that came over from Dr tunns to Abbey Dale are lovely especially julie, the others are terrible. Andrew is the most unprofessional, arrogant, rude, smug, condescending person I've ever had the displeasure to come across. The Dr's are very dismissive and their bedside manner leaves alot to be desired. The surgery was bad before covid, so you can imagine how bad it is now. You have to wait weeks for an appointment, and the staff don't seem to communicate with each other or the Dr's or read the notes properly. Yvonne is very good, however again due to the receptionists and other nurses not following up, tests and treatments are often delayed. Lastly the music you have to listen to whilst on hold needs some serious consideration. I've moaned about this surgery for the last couple of years and last week finally changed.
not enough doctors too many patents = more profit! no duty of care... Andrew is so much better receptionist with concern for patients yet the have no appointments ever
Absolutely atrocious service. I have Corona at the moment and they couldn't have been any more useless and unhelpful. First off i phoned in to ask for a prescription to support my asthma to be told that 119 deal with prescription requests for those with Corona . So i called up 119 only to be told that that is not the case and of course then tried the doctors again and was unable to get through. I called the following day to request a prescription again and the receptionist passed on a message to the on call doctor. I then got a TEXT to tell me that based on my symptoms none of which had been given on the phone id been triaged....... how if they have no symptoms ill never know. Got told the doctor would call in 3 days time ....3 days when i have Corona and am an asthmatic. So they have left me with nothing and no where to go as im isolationg . Absolutely discusting service
I've only seen Dr Singh twice and both times she seemed like she was in a bad mood and wasn't very nice to me. It doesn't take much to be pleasant. People that go to the doctors are usually worried about something but she makes you feel like you shouldn't be there. Why is she a doctor when she isn't happy being a doctor?
Am I the only person that thinks this is the worse practice I've ever known You cant make appointments, to get a doctor to speak to you is almost impossible, the staff are extremely rude. It appears this surgery is only interested in getting as many clients as possible to claim the money off the goverment per head. I have lived and travelled all around the world and I can say this is the worst practice I have ever been a patient of. As soon as it is possible I will be leaving these guys Atrocious service
I'm very happy with the service provided, but what I can't understand is the fact that the pharmacist is the one to review medication, I mean he doesn't know me, never met me so how would he know what decision to make over the phone! It's just not right.
I personally wouldn't recommend and if i was a frequent visitor to the doctors i would definitely change. I only go to the doctors for essential visits, midwife, smear and prescription for my childs inhaler, Nothing is ever straight forward and every time without fail i have had a problem, they have either not put my prescription through or not booked me/my daughyer in on the system for an appointment and had to re-arrange! The care i have received i have no complaints, but that said it has always been the midwife who is seperate from the surgery! They rang to make an appointment for my daughters 12 week jabs, when i turn up there is nothing booked in, i put in prescriptions and go to collect and they have got lost this happened 3 consecutive times in a row we are all human we all make mistakes but unfortunately this is every single time, there just seems to be no/a very poor system in place with the administration and booking side of things. I unfortunately wouldn't recommend this surgery to family or friends
