A purpose built, modern Medical Centre with all the usual facilities that are required to provide high quality Medical Services. The Medical Centre is located on a main bus route and is situated in an ideal location for patients registering from both Blackpool & Lytham St.Annes.

Dr John Poyner
MB.ChB, MRCGP, DRCOG
Married with three boys. Born in Lancashire and qualified at Manchester University 1981.
Undertook vocational training in a wide range of hospital posts at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. Practiced for 14 years as G.P. Principal in Lytham St.Annes, before moving to Abbey-Dale Medical Centre.
Dr Sujata Singh
Married with two children. Qualified at Gwalior Medical College 1988. Extensive Hospital experience in General Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Has been in General Practice since 2002.
Dr Singh joined Abbey-Dale Medical Centre in October 2004
Dr Muhammad A. Khawaja
BSc, MBBS MRCGP
Married with two boys. Qualified at University of Punjab 1990. Extensive work experience as Family Physician & Emergency Room Physician abroad. Joined NHS in 2001. Postgraduate training in hospital around Cambridgeshire until 2005. Worked as Staff Physician at Newark Molts for two years. Returned back to Family Medicine in 2007 and worked as GP in Blackpool since 2009. Special interests in Dermatology and Minor Surgery. Fluent in multiple languages: Arabic, Persian / Turkish / Urdu / Kurdish / Hindi and Punjabi.
Dr Celestine Voma
Qualified at University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria in 1994. Extensive hospital experience in both Cameroon and the UK in Tropical Medicine, General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Care of the Elderly, Paediatrics and Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Has been in General Practice since 2007. Joined Abbey-Dale Medical Centre in 2014. Fluent in French.
The Practice Staff
Practice Manager - Janine Deakin
The Practice Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the Practice and will deal with any problems or queries concerning the Practice. She will be happy to hear your comments, good or bad regarding the service provided by any member of the Practice.
Assistant Practice Manager - Melanie Nuttall
Is able to take care of the above on the Practice Manager's absence.
Practice Nurse - Emma Land
The Practice Nurse assists the Doctors by following up patients with long-term illnesses e.g. Bronchial Asthma, Diabetes, Heart Disease & Hypertension. In addition she performs Cervical Smear Tests, Vaccination & Immunisations, gives advice on stopping smoking, exercise, drinking, how to reduce weight & lowering your cholesterol if raised. She also carries out influenza vaccinations, travel advice/vaccinations, dressings, removal of stitches, pregnancy testing and ear syringing.
Practice Pharmacist
Omar Seedat
Omar patients for medication reviews and advice, stop smoking services, medication enquiries and healthy lifestyle advice. Patients can request an appointment themselves or may occasionally be advised to make an appointment by the surgery
Health Care Assistants
Mandy Ward & Gail Peglar
Primary care assistants are here to assist and complement the Practice Nursing Staff. They undertake New Patient Medicals, General Health Checks, Blood Pressure Checks, Dressings, take bloods, remove sutures and can refer you to the appropriate Health Care Professional.
Attached Staff
District Nurses
Hold clinics at the Practice on Monday and Wednesday mornings. They also visit patients who are confined to their homes and unable to attend surgery. If you require help from the District Nurses or you are housebound and need a visit from the District Nurses, please bring it to the attention of the practice staff and the District Nurse visit will be arranged.
