Story

Our family run tearoom is situated next to the ruins of Sweetheart Abbey, in the shadow of Criffel, and on the way to the beach. We serve home made soups, home baking and speciality coffees and teas in our tearoom and garden, and we are passionate about home baking and local produce. Our 'Afternoon Tea' is served all day, and gift vouchers are available to buy from our website.

Abbey Cottage Tearoom, Gallery and Giftshop is located at 26 Main Street, New Abbey, Dumfries DG2 8BY. Right next door to the historic ruins of Sweetheart Abbey. We serve home-made soups, sandwiches and light lunches, home baking and speciality teas and coffees, and our very popular Afternoon Tea. Opening hours: 10am-5pm, 7 days, March to end of October. 11am – 4pm, Wednesday – Sunday, November until 18 Dec 2016. Closed January.
