Spent there 3 days back in 2011. Everything was good, hotel and room was clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Very comfortable bed and I've had here the best British breakfast. Price for hotel was very good. I can recommend this hotel.
Lovely two night stay, old fashioned but clean room, quiet and most comfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on. The lady on reception was lovely. Recommended if you need a central place to stay in Liverpool
Lovely clean, modern rooms and very comfortable beds! Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast great - just a tad early and narrow time frame if you're back late the night before. A few minutes walk into the city centre, not noisy apart from the sound of traffic which wasn't bothersome. Very good value for money especially considering breakfast is included.
We have found the room for a very good price for 3 nights, breakfast included and free access to Wifi. The hotel is in a good location, not too far from the much visited areas. Lime Street is closer, but Central Station is not far either. Our room is on the front side of the hotel, the windows are not really up to filtering out the noises of the night life... and not closing properly it might be not very cosy during the night. Water pressure is not the best in the bathroom, but having hot water, there is no complain. Clean towels, bring your toiletries with you. Breakfast is good, served till 9 a.m. Rooms cleaned every single day.
I stayed there with my boyfriend and we had a lovely stay. Situated in a very convenient location close to Lime St. Station and the city centre, the Aachen hotel has very polite and helpful staff they directed us to an amazingly good Indian restaurant for dinner :-p, nice comfy rooms with tea/coffee and a kettle and en-suite ironing facilities which suited our needs as we were in Liverpool for a job interview. Breakfast was very nice and tasty. Definitely recommended!
We spent 3 amazing days in Aachen Hotel, couldn't ask for a better place to stay. The staff is friendly and they go out of their way to provide valuable insight concerning the area. Breakfast is generous and tasty, room is spacious, overall it's a lovely hotel. Just one oddity to mention: we did't get any toilet brush, which was not a big problem tbh although we found it a bit awkward.
Room was are really spacious and nice and clean. Disappointed by milk in room as when used clogged up and was off. Breakfast was extremely disapointing, options were apple, orange, banana, yogurt or a tiny selection of cereal. No cooked breakfast because it wasn’t a weekendwebsite states award winning breakfast no mention of only serving on a weekend also when we arrived back to the hotel after a night out we were greeted by a member of staff stood behind the door with a piece of paper to ‘tick’ us off his list which was very strange. Over-all adverage hotel.
Situated very conveniently for shopping centre, cathedrals, universities, coach station and main railway stations: all within 10-15 minutes' walk. My room was a bit small, but bed was very comfortable and shower was perfect temperature without having to adjust. Room size isn't really an issue for me, but I should mention it in case some people think it is relevant. The décor can't make up its mind between cutting edge 21st century lobby area and Queen Victoria the rooms / staircase, but again that is really only superficial. I was woken by a strange noise, which I think was the radiator as it was a mechanical sound no, not what you're thinking! but I soon got back to sleep. I normally sleep well anyway, but that could have been an issue with others. Excellent generous breakfast: good quality full English and unlimited supply of danishes, tea, coffee, cereals and juice. Staff are very friendly and immaculately turned out in very traditional uniforms: no trendy nonsense here! A warm Liverpool welcome was expected and exceeded. I thought the price may be a little high for what was, after all, nothing special, but then again, British hotels have always been overpriced in my experience. I would definitely go there again if I had to go to Liverpool - especially if by public transport - however I'm not sure if I could say the same if I were driving: parking seems to be difficult in the area. On the whole, for its minor faults, it certainly had character and style: something sorely lacking in the bland, corporate-chain mainstream.
The staff were nice. But that was the only good thing about the place. I have seen photos of the bedrooms and bathrooms on here. Mine was nothing like that. The bathroom is a joke. It's very small, and the night of my arrival there wasn't any hot water coming out of the tap, or shower. Someone came to look at it, it then seem to work. On the morning of me checking out, no hot water again. Although I let in run for a good ten minutes. There were two cups to have a drink. One Had a big crack in it. And a big chip at the top. There is no lift, and I had to keep going up three flights of stairs. I cannot comment on the cooked breakfast, as I didn't have it.there was only one choice of cereal. Not everyone eats a cooked breakfast. One of the taps on the shower was coming away from the wall.
This place has a charm of its own........scruffy and old-fashioned my bathroom suite was burgundy but wholesomely clean. Excellent value for the centre of the city with top drawer full english breakfast. Helpful proprieter allowed me to park my motorcycle in the small rear courtyard. A little jewel in the heart of town.
