Great shop, nice selection of all sorts of fish, tanks, and everything else you need to start or run your set up! This visit we were after pond fish and plants, and the chap was on hand to help me select some suitable fish, plants and advised on the best food for the season. The store wasn't crowded at all and marked out with arrows to show flow. We enjoyed looking at all the fish too and came home with some lovely healthy pond goldfish and shubunkins that have happily settled into their new home :
The shop is separated into two parts really, to the right you'll find all of the tanks with fish etc and to the left is the till and also a selection of tanks, food and accessories. They've got quite a good selection of fish, living plants and also other types of aquatic creatures; axolotyl, frogs, turtles etc. I think that you can also place orders for anything that they haven't got usually because when we've been there I've seen some tanks with signs on to say the contents are already sold. They've always had a couple of staff on hand to answer any questions, offer advice and collect any purchases. We have had quite a few fish and even a couple of aquatic frogs from here and they have always been in great health and lived for a long time, so I think that they have quality stock which they look after well. *We have only had fish for either warm or cold freshwater, never marine so I can't speak for those* There has always been quite a few tanks of all different sizes on display in the shop but from what I've seen they seem to be quite pricey for these larger items. They've got a decent range of tank accessories; new filters, decorations, driftwood etc. And they also carry lots of different types of food; fresh, frozen and dried. I have deducted one star for the pricing because I feel that it is quite expensive when compared with other places; especially when it comes to actual tanks, filters etc. I certainly wouldn't purchase any of these bigger items here. There is a good size car park in front of the shop itself, which is a huge plus point for most. Our kids love coming here and they would spend hours watching all of the different fish & creatures given half the chance!!! There's always a good selection for them to see! As a family with both young children and a wheelchair user I always rate places by the ease for us to access them, so the rest of my review is based upon those factors. The last time we went the car park wasn't in the best condition with loose stones and pot holes, this makes it almost impossible to get from car to shop for a wheelchair so we haven't been back recently. *The car park may be in a different condition now, so if this is a factor it may be best to contact them directly to check* Whilst there are quite a lot of tanks with all kinds of aquatic creatures they aren't all on a level for children or a wheelchair user to actually see. I understand that the reason for this is to maximise the space that they have available but nevertheless it does make it difficult to see what stock they actually have if you are somewhat vertically challenged!! This is why I have deducted the other star.
Well stocked, pleasant staff, I called for some small rainbow fish for my 20 gallon planted aquarium and they had a nice selection.

Was after some plants that are good in low light, did a bit of research prior, asked which ones are good for low light and was suggested the ones I read about. Great service and knowledgeable staff!
Just visited and there is much of activity due to moving premises. The chap who served us was extremely helpful. He gave us a lot of advice and was very pleasant. We had two lots of shrimp for cleaning duty in our tank and he was very enthusiastic and sorted us in no time. Will be back in the future and we hope you get sorted with a new place soon. Thanks.
Initially received a good service from this store. I really liked how all the tanks were naturally decorated to suit the needs of each individual fish. We decided to purchase four blue velvet shrimp. On the way home we noticed that one of the shrimps was not alive and we had clearly been given a dead one. We live quite far away from this store and did not have the time to turn back on this occasion. We rang up the store explaining what had happened and were fobbed off. They basically said there was nothing they could do and asked for a water sample from us even though this shrimp was already dead in the bag on the way home. We found the staff to be quite inconsiderate and had no understanding of the event despite me explaining thoroughly. We are always in and out of fish shops as it is a great hobby of ours and are sure that if this was any other shop they would have been more understanding. Disappointing :
Absolutely great! Fish are high quality. These are 2 from here in my tanks!
Fantastic shop this. I have been keeping fish for over 22 years and these guys always have something undiscovered to me. I think it is very much the case of experience and understanding/implementation of the advice staff give/people ask for also the undisclosure of what they are not telling you. If you know what you are doing or you follow the advice, plus you can always do your own research then you can't go wrong. Great staff, top advice and always interesting. Canny fault them. Thanks.
