I am a seasoned tropical fish keeper for over 20 years with over 5 tanks. I purchased a large mixture of tropical fish from Oakhanger to split across several tanks. Upon returning home and under clear lights I could see the Rummy nose tetras and a tetra cardinal had severe white spot. I also had 2 very skinny zebra danios that looked as though they had some sort of internal parasite and so ended up in a quarantine tank and later died. The other fish looked healthy so they made their way to their own established tanks, within 2 days I had lost several fish in each tank . This included 2 plec from 2 separate tanks, all the rummies most of the guppies and all the zebras. I would not recommend Oakhanger as when I called to see what kind of policy they had on supplying diseased fish I was advised to take pictures which I did however I have lost so many fish now I’m putting it down to an expensive mistake and will not return. Any other fish supplier that I have been to has a policy will replace any dead or sick fish within a week period such as Pets at home of which I am an ex-employee and let’s be clear Oakhanger are not cheap I spent £128.00 on my first and last visit.
Best thing I have done in a long time. I need to do this again. Excellent staff, perfect day.
We recently bought a pump for our pond and it didn't seem to work properly. After a phone call, we took it back and was soon sorted out. Nothing was too much trouble. Great sevice
Great place with amazing service. If you've got questions they have definitely got the answers. Off the beaten track so to speak but if you have or want fish so worth a visit.

Brought a gold fish sunday to go with my others and it died today tuesday what a shame. Wouldnt recommend.. they never put any oxygen in the bag didnt ask where I had traveled from didnt speak to me at all just to tell me that price such a shame use to be good years ago
I bought 4 lemon tetra and 4 rummy. When I got home I realised that one of the rummy had a couple of white spots on its fin. But thought it was just nip marks. Within 5 days I've lost half my fish to white spot. I rang the shop up tho tell them what had happened and the lady on the phone tried to tell me it wasn't white spot at first then tried to tell me that it was my tank and my temp. I've had tropical fish for many years I am no beginner. She wanted me to bring a water sample to the shop from my tank with pictures. I do not drive and as I explained and am now on lates for the rest of the week. I offered to send pics and she refused. I feel the way I have been treated is absolutely shocking. I will never be returning to this shop again. I have treated with white spot correctly with the proper treatment and am still now having problems. I'm devastated. I've lost fish I've had for year's. Thanks guy's
Have used Oakhanger Aquatics for many years. Wonderfully off the beaten track and no bells and whistles. Just good prices, great range of outdoor and tropical fish and friendly service and advice.
