Story

YHA Conwy is a spacious and modern building, in a great location for anyone wanting easy access to the coastal resorts of North Wales and the mountains of Snowdonia. Less than 1.5 miles from the beach, the hostel is situated on a hill just outside the town walls of Conwy. It has large grounds with a summer house, barbecue and picnic area. There are spectacular views from the roof terrace of the medieval walled town of Conwy and the North Wales coastline.

The center of Conwy is a ten minute walk away and boasts an impressive medieval castle, a Tudor Merchant’s house and an Elizabethan Manor house. The castle is well worth a visit and the quayside is a great place to enjoy an ice-cream whilst watching the yachts and fishing boats go by.

From the hostel you can walk up Conwy Mountain and into Snowdonia National Park. The northern peaks of the Carneddau Range can be access by a 15 minute drive. A 30 minute drive will take you to either Llanberis - for the Snowdon - or the Ogwen Valley - for the Glyders and Carneddau Ranges.

On our doorstep are Conwy RSPB reserve, the Great Orme Country Park and the Bodnant Gardens. For those families who prefer a more active holiday, The Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwyn Bay and the Great Orme are popular with children of all ages. For those with even more energy, a 30 minute drive will take you to the Greenwood Forest Park near Caernarfon, or to Gwidir Forest, Betws y Coed, for some mountain biking.

All our bedrooms are en-suite and newly refurbished. They are spacious and light, with views of the countryside, castle and town. We offer light snacks and evening meals in our cafe and have a fully licensed bar.
