It was lovely. Went with my daughter ugh and granddaughter, . Well kept grounds, peaceful atmosphere. The only downside for me is the fact I don't drive, so have to rely on my daughter to take me, as she had a tourer on there . You definitely need your own car.
On location pub is really run down. Have seen bar staff shout at children inappropriately many times and children likewise behaving inappropriately. Lovely aspects of the site but then pretty much every weekend we have been here we have been kept up well into the early hours by drunk neighbours. My general consensus is that what could be a lovely site is being pulled down by bad attitudes and behaviours not respecting the site rules
Shower block old and dated, needs a good clean. Pot wash was very poor. They seem to be concerned more about the new lodges than the camping. Over £100 for 3 nights,
We have been seasonal a few years and enjoyed it however this year has been fab with one of the staff making it extra special for our 2 year old grandson who adores hardworking groundsman Craig despite how busy he his he always stops to chat with Jayden who loves him to bits. We will be gutted when season ends and Jayden won't see him. Thank you Craig for looking after the site this year your a true asset to the park one of the best staff we have had.
Toilets & showers old and in need of attention. Clubhouse closed during the week and the pitch I was allocated in the purple section was quite scruffy. All this for nearly £40 a night. There are better sites close by which offer much better value. I would not return.
Camping is very good. Been here several times. Always hot water in showers and are very clean. The only downside is the Swallows Nest. Drinks very very expensive and no local ales although advertised. Food finishes at a variety of times each night and limited menu. Shame the pub let's the site down.
I have never spent a holiday in such a shambolic place! To start... the swallows nest! The website is one of the most missleading I have ever seen! It's only open a few hours a night! And if u want food forget it unless ots a Friday night! The staff r a disgrace! The 1 night we went to try it out they were screaming at each other over a STOLLEN HANDBAG!!!! the glasses were covered in PAINT!! we left withing minutes of getting there and left the drinks behind! The water taps r dotted about zip tied to rotten sticks!! And the toilets stink to high heaven! It's a trek to get anywhere. Just a note.... if u can't get off ur pitch by 11am the morning u leave they think they have the right to drag ur van off with their tractor. I almost stayed late just to see them try! Honestly this sight has the opportunity to be such a lovely place but my advice is steer well clear! Won't be in my opinion long b4 the drop the tourers and just concentrate on there upmarket statics which is so obvious! Plz if u want a family holiday don't go near the place
Expected just a little more for £40 a night for our campervan. Toilets and showers clean but dated. Obviously an old slate quarry. Pitches ok but could be tidier. The 2 nights we stayed the club house was closed - found out after a very long walk to it. We enjoyed visiting Conwy But would choose to stay elsewhere next time.
This place is brilliant clean showers and toilets lovley pub on site one thing I would say is anyone with any walking disabilities would need a car it's very hilly and a massive site we were in a motorhome and struggled walking there is no shop on site so take all your kit with you
Lovely place too stay,I've being coming here over 5 year's with my family too stay in their lodge. The shallows nest has a NEW manager DONNA and she's a Ray of sunshine. All the new staff are kind and welcoming, lots of choice of drinks. They have a large outdoor seating and a play area and they have Merlins indoor play area for the children is fab lots too do for all ages and they sell bags of sweets amd icecream.
