Lovely setting at the top of a windy narrow road. Don't think about getting anything but a car up there. We were put into room 3 which was tiny. There were 4 of us and if you put both arms out you could touch both walls. The length of the room was 2 bunk beds. It had a sink in it too. The staff were lovely and the cooked breakfast good value. Beer is a lovely place to explore for a day. If you're there on a Wednesday make sure you go to the anchor for the curry night which is excellent value at £10 including a drink. Lovely YHA but the room was far too small. Make sure you don't get room 3!

My dog was not allowed in the hostel. My partner had to smoke in one particular spot only in the garden. And my dog had to be on a lead. Yet it claimed to be dog friendly on the website.

Great location. Really clean and well kept. Only downsides are the members kitchen is too small and the reception could be open longer hours.

Very clean,warm hostel with many original features. Good self catering kitchen. A range of walks straight from the hostel. Friendly,helpful staff. Would stay again.

Beautiful house, comfortable rooms and ok showers. Satisfying service and a standard breakfast. All in all above average compared to other yha.
