Wonderful little old fashioned pub. a little bit out of the way but well worth a visit. Getting here requires driving down narrow roads flanked by beautiful pristine fields so the view is wonderful. The pub itself is very old fashioned with wood beams, log fire, photos of the pub taken around 100 years ago. the food is high quality and plenty of choice.

Disappointed. Had fish and chips for lunch one day which was fine but went back for an evening meal. This is a pub trying to serve posh food but coming up short. Staff were unfriendly and blunt. I had the muscles for starters which has bit of raw garlic in the sauce. Cheese and biscuits were served with few biscuits so asked for a couple more and was charged - really?! Overpriced and underwhelming. Much better experience at other restaurants in the wider area.

Great place, full of history. Good range of beers, pleasant stuff.. however, food is a bit pretentious , deconstructed pie and chips..peas in a pot, gravy in a small sauce pan chips in a metal garden pot all on one plate. You felt like you have to re-condtruct the meal - what for? Spend the time on getting the basics right. The price was high for the food.

Very high quality pub and hotel with very well recommended food. Make sure you book! Even if it is a week day. Tables are reserved for residents it seems and if you just walk in on the off-chance you may be disappointed. We, sadly, had to get back in the cast and find somewhere else to go but it was buzzing in there and looked lovely.

Nice little pub. Good food. Muscles were great but sauce a little too salty.
