Excellent pub lunch! Food was delicious and the portion sizes were very generous. It was a little empty when we first arrived and so there wasn't much atmosphere, but it picked up towards the end of our meal and was a bit more bubbly. Service was very attentive and friendly. Would definitely visit again if I find myself in the area.
We had a fantastic Sunday lunch time roast today!!! Because we couldn’t decide which one to get, we opted for the triple roast sharing platter and it really didn’t disappoint. Well cooked, flavoursome and plenty to share. We would definitely recommend and we can’t wait to go back
First time at the Yew Tree and it was excellent all round! Service friendly, attentive and efficient, plus the food was absolutely delicious! We had the Brie and fig tart, joules mariniere and pork, with chocolate orange bread and butter pudding for dessert. Everything tasted fantastic and portion sizes were perfect. We will definitely be back!
Four and a dog for Sunday dinner in front of open fire in the bar. What could be better after a walk? Well the answer was initially the service then the food. We were looked after by so many people and everyone was cheery and just getting the job done with a great attitude. The roasts were great with giant Yorkshire pud. Best place I've been in quite a while.
Very good 1st experience at The Yew Tree. To put them to the test, we ordered two classics "fish & chips" and the "Exmoor beef burger" Both very well presented and executed. All the ingredients in the hamburger were enhancing each other, and the meet was moist and flavoursome. Delicious. We will certainly come back for a real dinner. The service was attentive too.
I think it's overpriced. Young staff using the F word whilst chatting to each other. Food wise, the starter was a very small portion and the squid was not very fresh, the steak was ok but the chips were frozen not freshly cut potatoes. For the price of the dishes, I expected a better quality. Parking: Gravel so wheelchair users might find it a bit hard.
Absolutely fantastic food and good value. Main course The chicken was moist and delicious. If anything, an over-large portion meant not enough space for us both to have a sweet!Food: 5/5
A big shout out to Joy, a lady with a very big heart ..after making a stupid mistake , joy came to the rescue on her white horse , thank you dear Joy , not only for your generosity, but for going above and beyond what was necessary in showing me you have a heart of gold , and you are very human . God bless you .Have a wonderful Xmas , and a Happy New Year . Til we meet again .
Lovely pub with welcoming and helpful staff. It was cold so we sat inside, although the outside area would be great in warmer weather. Would recommend ordering food here too as they have solid options and seasonal specials. Highly recommended.
I have visited the recently reopened Yew Tree a few times now and I have been impressed on each occasion. Very warm and friendly welcome from the team of staff and a very high level of customer service and attention to detail. Good choice of ales from local breweries, extensive choice of wines plus the usual lagers, spirts and soft drinks. The bar area is not huge but there is a good choice of seating and a very good open fire which makes it very cosy. Adjacent sits the restaurant area which has nicely spaced tables invitingly laid out. There is a conservatory area too with tables in a very light space. The food menu offers a good choice of starters, mains and desserts plus some specials. I had lunch on one visit and the presentation and food quality were of a very high standard, delicious too and again using locally sourced products. The owner is ever present ensuring quality and high standards are maintained which is very impressive and good to see. The refurbishment of this pub has been undertaken in a very stylish way, contemporary but still maintaining some traditional elements. It has a very inviting feel as you open the door. Very impressive and great to have the village pub open again.
