shocking place.... ordered 2 chips and 2 sausage which they had infront of me ready to go. but instead made me wait as they stood around for fish to cook for ppl who ordered before me because they didn't have the brain capacity to work it all out. don't bother visiting and go round the corner.
Lovely family buisness, always made to feel welcome, food is always excellent.Food: 5/5
Never even knew The Yew Tree Chippy existed until told about it literally last night. It came highly recommended so we thought we'd give it a go. Can honestly say it was the nicest fish, chips & mushy peas we've had for ages. The fish was battered & cooked fresh while you wait outside - so impressed taking Covid seriously. As a result, perfectly crispy batter, spot on chip & the mushy peas were amazing. So grateful for the recommendation & will definitwely go again - worth the trip outside village we live.
Food was cooked fresh and was very hot still when i got home. Always polite to customers. Deals can be had there also on food. A little more salad could of been added to burger but great food.
By far the best chippy, we don't have chippy tea very often and have been disappointed with the last few places we've including the old time favourite on the beast market who now seem to have tried to make 6 fish out of 1 and serve a large portion of chips which wouldn't feed a child! Highly recommended Yew Tree, freshly cooked, good quality and sensible portions!
Lovely chicken curry, very tasty and reasonably priced. Good portion too, would definitely have again.
Best chips I've had in a long long time.. Top food for a Saturday night treat ! Thanks
Delicious fish and chips, as always, from Yew Tree take away last night. Excellent service and friendly staff. We definitely recommend them and will be back .
The best chippy in Wales. The owners are brilliant, nothing is too much trouble. Everything is cooked really well and is always good quality. Today I picked up an order of 10 fish, multiple bags of chips, peas and curry sauce for visitors we had in work. They had all the order cooked and wrapped in under 10 minutes, very efficient. They double wrapped them as they knew I had to get them back to work hot. They were fabulous, red hot when I got them back to Llay and my visitors who were Brazilian loved them. The fish which was haddock was white and the batter was light and golden. If you get chance to visit try their homemade chicken curry, it is beautiful and you won't be disappointed. Keep up the good work, its nice to find such lovely people like Ian and Leo doing such a great job. My husband and I appreciate all the hardwork you put in to produce such tasty meals.
