The service here is excellent. Yes, there was a wait in A&E, but I went in on a Sunday, consultation Monday, operation Tuesday to have a plate fitted. The staff have been excellent, the doctors, the nurses, even the people that serve the food. We are lucky to have such a great hospital on our doorstep. I had to spend the night and had breakfast in bed.
My mother recently had surgery and the care she received from Mr Porter and his team was exceptional. She was transferred onto the Kingston Wing where, without exception, all of the staff were highly professional, treated my mother with respect and humour and took wonderful care of her. When I phoned to ask how she was, it was answered immediately and I was reassured as to her welfare. My mother also thoroughly enjoyed her meals. Thank you, Yeovil Hospital.
I have just returned home after major abdominal surgery. I recovered for six days in ICU. The whole staff in the department were so supportive to myself and my family. I would like to make a special thank you to Staff Nurse Emma Edwards. You are one special person I will always remember. For the remainder of the Hospital staff including ward 4A. Thank you Kindly. I was referred to the emergency day centre at Yeovil hospital a couple of months ago and cannot fault the care I received. All staff were efficient and friendly.They even gave us a sandwich, biscuits and a cuppa which made the waiting totally bearable. Fantastic service, keep up the good work.
Yeovil is a very busy hospital. Consistent at being rediculusly hot. Especially in lifts and even more so on wards. Be prepared to wait a life time for a lift. there are 2 staff lifts that are not by any means utilised by the staff at all which makes lifts for the public very stuffy, over crowded and a long wait. Be better to have the other 2.lifts that are barley used ipend up to everyone. Very annoying. The hospital it's self is very clean to a high standard. On wards and public areas. There's a good shop expensive and a coffee shop. One huge concern of mine in particular was medical staff looking after patients on wards day to day don't ever seem to have proper knowledge of there patients health never willing or able to answer basic care questions about a individual or there care or condition. Allso an unwillingness to provide the most basic of things such as a extra pillow. Claiming only one pillow is PRESCRIBED to each bed. Doctors only wisiti.wards 2x a week. And after discharge care plans lacking in referrals or explaining future care. I know the NHS is under funded but does that really mean quality of procedure or a simple smile from staff should be affected so impactly. Parking is always trikky very full car park and sickeningly expensive e.g £3.90 for just 1 hour. Sorry Yeovil hospital but I'm not sure any on myself family friends or anyone I've ever known has had a positive experience hear and its got nothing to do with health sadly.
