I was in last week for septoplasty surgery. The nurses and anathetists were amazing. They worked alongside me in detail to make sure how the anaesthetic went as I need more due to other health conditions. The staff on the day ward were also amazing. I dont know the nurses name but bless her, it was a really hot day and it was mostly her alone between about 6 of us back and forth. Thankyou for the care DCH.
Excellent experience every time I come here! This time I came for a minor procedure, I was worried beforehand but all went much better than expected.nnStaff were friendly and professional from check-in through to the recovery room. The nurses were great and put me at ease from the start. The consultant came to talk to me before the procedure and reassured me.nnThe procedure itself went very smoothly and was painless. Staff were great throughout and the nurse looking after me in the recovery room was very friendly.nnAfter the procedure up to Damers restaurant for cheese and biscuits with orange juice. A successful and painless day!
I recently attended the Endoscopy unit for a polypectomy following two previous endoscopies earlier this year. On each occasion the entire experience from arrival at reception to the point of discharge was faultless in every respect. Every member of the team was friendly, welcoming and highly professional and made every effort to put me at ease during what is, let's be honest, a quite personally invasive procedure. Special thanks to Dr James Shutt for his skill, expertise and excellent bedside manner - a credit to his profession. I don't think you would be able to tell the difference from the service provided by this team from that at a private hospital.
I have just had a total hip replacement at Dorset County Hospital under the care of Mr. J Smith and the care has been exceptional. Everyone was caring, friendly and professional. Like most patients I was apprehensive but immediately put at my easy by the extremely well managed nursing team. Once in their capable hands I was on my way to a new hip and a better life. The care was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff involved in my care, they delivered the very best quality care in action. Thank you! Diana Sale
Going to visit the prince of Wales ward. Unable to get through via phone. Looked public website. Clearly stated pow visiting 11-8 negotiated with work leave to visit my relative. Informed by ward visiting 2-10 despite what the website says giving me a three hour wait OR cancel visiting. Difficult to organise anything if the hospital gives conflicting information
