I thought I'd had a uniquely bad experience in this pub till I read the other reviews. One star is the minimum you can award but it's ten more than this place deserves. It's beyond understanding how you can be so hostile to the paying public and run a viable business. I'll just say that the reviews should rightly put you off Ye Olde Vigour but don't let them put you off Cemaes Bay. The Stag next door is a super little pub and Eleanor Janes opposite a really lovely cafe. The chippy is also gold standard. Wales is a very welcoming country with a big heart and generous spirit of hospitality. Ye Olde Vigour is the exception to the rule.

Greasy hag with sexy crocs called me a ‘f***ing blonde b****rd’ then threatened to urinate in a glass and throw it in my face. The smell of toilets attacked my nostrils the minute I stepped into the place.

The most incredible pub I have ever been to. We regularly come to Cemaes and without fail we always pop into the Vigour just the experience the wicked ghoul landlady (it has come somewhat of a tradition for us to see if she can get any worse). She absolutely hates customers and is very reluctant to serve any drinks. The pub has a few beers on draught but she will only ever serve Carling. She will constantly mutter under her breath (probably incanting spells) and stares at you whilst you drink that makes your inner soul shiver. Honesty the most miserable pub on the planet. Entering this pub and ordering / finishing a drink is a very difficult challenge. However, completing the challange should be viewed as a major life achievement. Good luck. P.S Don't use the toilets. This is where she keeps her beasts.

Rudest landlady I've ever encountered. Horrible witch. I asked I polite question of did they sell any bottled beer I was snarled and shouted at. Avoid avoid avoid.

Met by very rude landlady! Who complained about holiday makers to members of the group (of holiday makers) and made the experience very awkward and not enjoyable. Will not be returning!!
