"UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT FROM DECEMBER 2021:The Pilot Boat Inn has the only micro brewery on the Isle of Wight - Wight Knuckle Brewery. Wight Knuckle now runs the bar and restaurant serving their delicious beers and pizzas. We also have a great selection of locally made gifts for sale. Takeouts. Open all year. Just on the Isle of Wight for the day and visited the Pilot boat inn for something to eat and a sample of their in house brewed beer. I love pale ale and as it was one of their beers I opted for that and I have to say it is without a doubt the best pale ale I’ve ever had. Spoke to Norman and he was kind enough to show me the small micro brewery of theirs. Such a cool place and a must to go visit. I did leave with one of their 9 pint kegs, of course with pale ale. Highly recommend this place. Pizzas and staff are awesome too.
This unique pub has a brewery on site. Norman was beyond kind and showed us around. Husband is a real ale man and loved the dark IPA. We came in are a long walk sampled the beers and had pizza for lunch. Best pizza outside of Italy husband's comments. I had a gluten free one which is the best GF version I've tasted so far. Staff were so helpful and friendly. If you go make sure you say hello to Norman who is the kind of person every business needs. Thank you to the whole team for a lovely few hours.
The staff are fantastic here providing a welcoming and warm atmosphere. The craft beer from their own micro brewery is first class and the pizza delicious. We popped in for a pint and stayed for the whole evening. Looking forward to our next visit.
Google search was wrong, we booked a table for 8 thinking it had "pub food" as Google said. When we got there turns out to be a pizza place. £130 later with tax 20+. no price on the menu so we didn't know how much we was spending! food was greasy and some of the cheese was quite gritty, menu offered pasta dishes and was told there was none available, it was edible but its not worth the price we payed. staff were lovely and the place was nice. There was only one toilet too, wouldn't come here again.
Great pub! The beers were great and all vegan, the staff were really helpful and lovely plus the food was amazing. Best vegan pizza I have ever had. Next time I'm in the Island, I'll definitely be returning.
Escaped from a Parkdean campsite to get here for magnificent pizzas, quality craft beer, with low abv options, and super friendly staff. Excellent espresso, too. Quirky walk along the way looking at houseboats. And bus back. There's only 1 an hour so time it right. We were brimful of pizza and beer, couldn't even stagger back to the van.
Very good rooms with comfy beds and a modern en suite shower room. Breakfast was "continental" but a bit sparse as any continental would expect cheese, ham etc rather than only cereal, yoghurt and toast. Very friendly staff including the owner. Overall very good. Thank you.
Great pub, friendly staff, good ambience very nice beer brewed on site, excellent coffee, best of all the pizzas are amazing and the salad is great too. Really top place, make sure you visit.
Great beers, a changing roster. Pale ales, largers and stouts wines and soff-drink selection as well of course. Beautiful inside, lovely staff and dog-friendly. They have pizzas which are rather good. Great place, would recommend for everyone, locals tourists and anyone in-between
Solid four stars. The pizzas are very tasty. While it's nice to have a local brewery, the beers are just 'good' - nothing special. In fact, the best drink on tap was the guest cider.
