One who loves the authentic old British pub, then you are at the right place. Food and ambience at its best
Had a great dinner here with family, and quite cheap considering we got mains and desserts for 9 people. I would recommend the Sirloin Steak. A lovely atmosphere and easy to book or just turn up. There is a restaurant arra for families and a bar area for adults, and it's really a lovely place.
I ate here a few months ago and had an issue with the food, so this was followed by a negative review. They encouraged me back and I returned for another meal - the second meal was very good. I have still knocked a star off for the first visit, but the last visit was 5 star. Hopefully the next visit will be another 5 stars
A great place to go whether it's for a quick drink with your partner or a meal with the family. Will definitely be going back. The Sunday 3 meat roast was amazing. The staff were very friendly and welcoming too
Well worth a visit if you are in the area. The staff are friendly and the pub is well furnished and has a great cosy atmosphere. Food is good, I had confit duck and my partner had beef cheeks. The service was superb, very attentive. Thanks for looking after us so well Hannah. We will definitely be back again soon.

Went for lunch on a Saturday 15th may... Service, food and arrangements are fantastic. Service on time, quick and perfectly timed. Very neat, clean and sanitised premises. Food wise, can't complain and above the level for a pub and top notch. 2 starters - 1 veg and the other is BBQ Korean wings. Mains - beatroot burger and hunters chicken. Lastly, vanilla cheesecake with coffee. I would certainly visit again :
Whilst seemed a pleasant setting and had a lovely atmosphere, our experience was disappointing. Asked independantly, the waitress on both occasions advised me and previously my daughter that both menus presented to us were covered by Tesco vouchers: bill time - only the main menu! Didn't make a lot of difference to what we had to pay about £1/2 extra, but the waitress should have known. And when queried with the waitress who came with the bill, her attitude cooled substantially. Meals? Four of them were fine. One was'inedible', another was not what was ordered and its replacement also had to be left uneaten. There were four adults and two children. Overall, not happy.
We only stayed for a drink. Very pleasant and bar staff very welcoming, friendly and polite. Beautiful surroundings. Nice log fire on such really cold day.
