Came here for a late lunch on a weekday. Cozy and friendly atmosphere. Absolutely loved the calve liver main - tender and very delicious. Not so happy with the rib eye - sort of too thin for what we’re used to with a rib eye steak; the skinny chips were fresh and yummy! Also loved the toffee pudding!
Had lunch here today, the food was lovely, staff very welcoming. Very kind to our dog. We will definitely be going back. Try the BBQ pork belly bites, loved by us and the dog! Best I've ever had.
Fantastic place to go, hidden little gem in the middle of nowhere! Food was brilliant and high quality, well worth the money! I will be back soon for another summers evening bit of grub!
Great place for a drink and food. Good portion sizes and great flavours, just lovely
Decent pint and coffee at the Crooked Billet. It's a brakespear pub, and a couple of decent ales on tap. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and a couple of tables free. Food looked delicious too.
Lovely garden. Lovely staff. Food is a bit hit and miss. Fish and chips £16 was good, light airy Crispy batter, garden peas looked a bit aneimic however the side caesar salad was small and sad, cruton was incredibly stale, boring, and no love was given when making them. For £8.50 for a side salad I'd expect MUCH better. yay for fish. Fail on the salad. For the price it should be better. Unlikely to return for food.
Lovely old pub/restaurant. The integrity of the building is well maintained, very comfortable bar without being overly fussy. The restaurant offers a good variety of delicious food and it's excellent value for money. Nothing is too much trouble for the excellent staff and a special mention must go to Sue who looked after us extremely well, despite the very busy shift. This may well become our "out of town local".
Just had lunch . Bang on food and service. The haddock was the best piece of battered fish I have ever eaten, and by a distance. My wife had the hake risotto. Looked good to me and she said it was lovely and once again great fish cookery. I haven't lived in Wokingham for 48 years now, but the Billet is every bit as good as it was then, maybe better, and even the Greene King Brakspears tasted pretty much like the Henley original. What a pub to have on your doorstep you lucky people.
Lovely lunchtime meal with friends. Friendly service and very tasty food. Would definitely return.
The food was absolutely divine! First time I've been to this pub/resturant and we will definitely be returning. The staff were fab and welcoming. I wish I'd have taken a picture of the food. Compliments to the chef as it was on point!
