I go here for lunch in the weekday a lot and the food is really affordable and always nice. The staff are very friendly and great at their jobs. Only negative I would say is the night time experience as it gets rowdy and I wouldn't choose to go their at night.

Rude staff, poor service. Door staff especially rude even on quiet Tuesday night. Ruined my whole night, real shame.

This is actually a very good Yates. My only prior experience of Yates was one best avoided in my hometown. This one has a very busy Tuesday, where the DJ ( who is both a gentleman and suit-clad miniature buddha) spins some great tunes. The clientele on a Saturday are less abundant (and considerably more paletable) although it is not always open til late. Drinks on Tuesday are cheap and on Saturday are not too prohibitively expensive.

Great bar, with cheap prices. Serves as a good clubbing spot too on some evenings, renowned for students on Tuesdays at their "Toast" events. Entry is never too expensive (always sub £10, often a lot lot less from my experience) and the drinks aren't too expensive either. Cloakroom isn't very reliable to be opened which can be frustrating and the bar is never very clean, but otherwise seems to be a good spot.
