Not the best spoons we have been in, and we have definitely been in a few. We found the staff a little rude to start, but the food and quick service weren't too bad. It is a very clean wetherspoons and you can't fault that at all. The toilets are downstairs in this one. There is plenty of seating. There is some paid parking close by. Food wasn't amazing as the chips were still hard.
I went to this restaurant with a group of students on 9 of March to have an English breakfast together before coming back to Como after a study holiday. Quiet place, warm atmosphere and welcoming staff. Last but not least free refills for tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
Loved the history surrounding this JD Wetherspoons & it's connections with Mary Shelley. Some shady characters still frequenting this pub which made us a little uncomfortable. Pub is big with lots of spacious seating. We only popped in for a cuppa & to cross it off the list. Got here around 10.00am & it was pretty quiet. Would come back though if we were in the area again.
I have been in many Wetherspoons but this one is not one of the best. Popped in today at 8 a.m. as my wife and I were in the area but we were disappointed overall. Firstly it may be that they were short staffed as service taking our order was slow with no one there for several minutes with a queue building. Then it took about 20 mins for our breakfasts to arrive which is the slowest I have ever encountered. It was not very hot when it was delivered and the tomatoes were missing, so there was trouble in't kitchen!!nOtherwise it is a good size with a small open air seating area and a good choice of tables. There are ladies and gents loos downstairs and a disabled loo on the same floor as the restaurant.
Worst spoons I've been to so far. Service was subpar at best and drink orders weren't carried out correctly. Crockery and cutlery was handed out dirty with a lipstick like substance on a fork and napkin, as well as a stained and chipped plate and glass which arrived at our table. The burger I ordered had a burnt bun which was quite disappointing.nnAll of these issues were brought up to a member of staff who shrugged it off, not really caring that our experience was unpleasant. If I return to Bournemouth and want to go to a wetherspoons, next time I'd try the one up the road...
