Only stayed one night as part of a wider journey but we'll be back! We arrived out of hours but the staff were so lovely and helpful in accommodating this and supporting us. The site was beautiful from the entry and throughout. Can definitely recommend the Angel Inn in Yarwell Village down the road too - a ten minute walk take a torch! and the most magical, quirky pub that also serves lovely food.
We stayed here for a long weekend and we couldn't get in to the pitch set aside for us Not any fault of the site owner so the lady on reception kindly moved us and took us in the golf buggy to the new site which was lots of fun. I would thoroughly recommend this place l, it's a great base very central for our needs Peterborough & Stamford and is so near the A1 you could stop en route north or south. I couldn't hear the A1 in a tent. Nearby activities: Great base to explore the surrounding towns and cities.
We camped here in our campervan. It was one of the hottest days of the year in September 2023. We slept with the van doors open. Perfect. few tiny flies about, must get a fly screen. On-site cafe, open from 10.30 am maybe a little earlier to about 4 pm. Serves bacon/sausage/egg subs., teas, coffees, jacket potatoes, cakes, ice lollies and several other things. People were paddle boarding or floating about on inflatables, lovely walks along the river. Onsite toilets and showers. Electric, water. Riverside and lake pitches. Truly is a lovely tranquil site.
Went hear with my caravan. Unfriendly staff. Only one area to get drinking water for the van and one elson point. Huge site for this and only one toilet block in the whole site nothing at reception or near the cafe. Cafe was the best part of this site looks like a shed but staff very friendly and helpfull . The main site seems more about money than the experience that they could easily give.
If you like a long walk to the toilet, dirty facilities and no loo roll this is the place to come. Lot of space yet we were all crammed together so that it creates a fire risk. Pitches were small and not well marked out. Only one toilet block for the whole site which was inadequate. I won't be returning.
Be careful Yarwell Mill floods to often and customer service is none existent! If you have a problem dont expect help.. Just fake promises!Rooms: 1/5
Just stayed for 4 nights. Lovely and peaceful, midweek, More going on at the weekend. Very flat site, lots of space, Only let down, toilets, need cleaning a bit more often especially at the weekend, a bit far from the camping but hey, no bother to walk. Lots of local walks, no shops on site.
Considering what lovely countryside is to be found in the vicinity I simply can not believe the council allow the owners of Yarwell Mill to decimate the view with this monstrosity of prefab plastic houses. I have travelled all around the world from Belize to Cambodia and I am yet to visit anywhere with such a profound lack of taste as Yarwell Mill plastic houses toy town. I certainly do not wish to visit again and it begs the question who would want to spend their time here sitting in a plastic dwelling in a sodden construction site? I imagine the sort of folk who buy scratch cards but that’s pure speculation on my part.
Great location and friendly staff. Awkward camping though, you're way too close to others. Website states you have to be 6m between neighbours and we barely had a 6m gap to put our tents in.
Impressive on drive in but disappointment set in after a few moments of driving through the site. Great field for camping, however due to the lack of markings no one knows were their pitch starts and ends. Facilities are really poor and definately not enough to go round all the users. Broken showers and leaking toilets. Hazards with piping around the area and really poor pot washing area. All it would take is a little attention to detail. They seem to be spending so much money on the retirement section but neglecting the needs of campers. Theres no cafe as such just a small 8 feet hut which serves a small offering and with no shops in walking distance its not ideal. This could be so much more and could be lovely as the location is great.
