We had a family celebration at Y Pengwern on 14 October 2017 and I can recommend for similar functions. We were provided with a lovely private room with two staff all to ourselves. Food was the best value ever! The staff went to so much trouble to make it special for us and nothing was too much trouble. I can't thank them enough and wish Y Pengwern all the very best for the future.

We stayed here before visiting zip world, community run pub that's got friendly dedicated staff that made us most welcome.

Great community pub, nice friendly atmosphere and a welcoming log fire on a cold day. The Pengwern is dog friendly and the beer is excellent and the right price. See for yourself when you are in the area!

Not for me. Place is poorly maintained and in need of a lift. Exterior gives a poor first impression, sad and slightly run down. That continues inside. When the cracked window pane fell out, a gentleman came and put a piece of cardboard to cover it but customer service was lacking. No offer of a room change or even if that was not an option. A great idea of a community run inn but not working in my opinion.

Rooms are small but clean and reasonable. Room 10 is right above the pub so you must be in the mood for music if you go to bed before the band. Fortunately for us, it was great folk music. The food was quite good too and the pub was beyond charming.
