Story

Set in ancient woodlands in the middle of the South Downs; adjacent to the River Arun; overlooked by the historic Arundel Castle skyline this wetland reserve is a great place to visit for a day out in West Sussex for the whole family.

Free Safaris on quiet, electric boats are offered everyday weather permitting. Gliding along the waterways of the new Wetlands Discovery area you can discover the joys of seeing wild flora & fauna in their natural environment and the many wild birds on the lakes, reed beds and woodland areas on the site.

This is a really good place to take the children and let them burn of their energy and learn about our wildlife all at the same time, 2 large play areas pond dipping a maze, lots of bug houses for the children to look at and lots to read and learn about. Boat ride is an added bonus and the staff really informative. Cafe is set over the lake and is a beautiful spot. But cakes are dry amd over cooked and drinks are far from Nice,different coffees are quite bitter in taste.

Absolutely wonderful. Great for families. Fabulous place for kids to get up close and personal with nature. Lots of fun things to do. Terrific cafe serving fresh hot or cold meals. Great views from the inside. Ideal for picnics. Very friendly. Car park and easy access.

Been here a few times over the year usually on nice warm days. On this day we met up with friends for the kids Lego event. Daughter made a small frog that they could keep and a couple of large Lego pieces that joined the display for the day. A mixed bag of birds to see on the day. The weather was really not helping. The pea and ham soup was needed to warm me up. Nice and thick and tasty it was too.

Great value if a member! Good day out, take your own food although cafe and Sunday roast is pretty fair(but not great and just slightly over-priced for microwave roast.).

Can recommend it. The trip with the electric boat is lovely, Accessible by wheelchair. The board walk through the reeds is amazing, also accessible by wheelchair. The cafe is good for a snack. No dogs allowed.
