Story

As with all Maidenhead Aquatics stores, all of our staff are practising fishkeepers with many years of experience between them. Each of the full-time members already holds a formal qualification or is in the process of undertaking the Ornamental Aquatic Trade Association's (OATA) Advanced Diploma course in fish health and water chemistry.

We are particularly proud of our 'signature' display tank, the 1,200-litre, 3-metre long planted aquarium which adjoins the store entrance. It was first planted during our opening week in December 2007 by a team from TROPICA, Denmark led by Ole Pedersen, the world renowned aquatic plant specialist. Now well established, the plants are growing at an amazing rate.

We look forward to greeting you at this, one of the Groups newest stores, where good, old fashioned service and friendly hospitality, blended liberally with innovative ideas and our passion for fishkeeping awaits you.

Actually visited Stewarts garden centre, not maidenhead aquatics, both in same place. Very good selection of plants, well impressed with indoor plants & ideas given on how to plant them up. Loved the statues outside.
I visit this store atleast once a week to collect a regular order and can't fault it. Every single member of staff knows my name, shows interest in my tanks and helps me when I have any issues with my tanks. They always make me feel welcome and like nothing is too much trouble. Would highly recommend the store and the staff are an asset to Maidenhead Aquatics!
Lovely store with friendly and experienced team members. I love coming to this store even if I don't end up buying anything.
The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. They offer great advice and clearly care about aquatic life. There is a big koi indoor pond at the entrance where you can view some beautiful & big koi and stergeon and there's a machine where you can pay £1 to feed them. They stock cold water, fresh tropical water and marine water fish, as well as live and frozen food, tank accessories and equipment, pond plants and equipment. I recommend this place highly.
Great shop. Been a few times and always helpful & informative. Went this weekend for a Royal Gramma. There was one left but he would not leave his rock! The staff were patient and eventually had to break their own show live rock down to retrieve it all very gently to not stress the fish out. I was really surprised that they would go to that extent for me. I would give more than 5* if I could. Would highly recommend to all in the hobby, old and new!
The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly; I doubt myself with the welfare of my fish and water quality before I purchase more fish, however, they're happy with my water testing kit results and no longer need me to bring in aquarium water for testing.
Please stop saying every brand apart from Redsea is bad. Listening to you talk to other customers. Making out all brands apart from Redsea are take ypur money and run bandits. Lady at the till though, seemed to be the only one who listens to her customer and advises them on their wants and needs. Maidenhead aquatics else where dont do this. I know I've visited them up and down the country on my travels.
Very helpful advisers. Good range of aquatic equipment and extras.
Never having had anything more adventurous than a couple of goldfish we didn't have a clue where to start on our journey to owning a marine tank so we popped into Maidenhead Fareham. They were helpful instore from the very first moment with talking us through everything that was involved, letting us check the sump/set up on their display tank more than once to make sure we had everything running correctly, showing us how to do all of the water tests and generally answering any number of stupid questions we have. We have been in the shop virtually every weekend for the last 3 months and all of the staff have been great. In particular Darren has given us loads of help so far. He is very knowledgeable and always seems genuinely enthusiastic to tell you about the various creatures/coral, how they behave in the tank, what they look like as they grow, making sure our choices would be good tank mates with what we already have and what we want to add in the future. The variety of fish, coral and invertebrates changes often and even if it is near the end of the day he still takes the time time to talk us through the new things in store and our next steps with the tank.
Nice place to visit. Good range of fish. The advice is inconsistent depending on which member of staff one talks to. The fish we have bought seem healthy. There's a big indoor pond with carp and some weird looking fish with long noses. They can be fed if you buy a small pot of feed for £1. My children love the 'mole' fish.
