Might be a bit biased as they saved me and my friends just before midnight from not having any where to sleep for the night. The room was just what we needed comfortable beds, clean and well presented. I couldn't ask any more from the staff who helped us quickly and without delays. Location is a perfect close to a 15 min drive to the centre of Birmingham, and the on-site parking really helped. Rooms: They were clean and tidy I felt like the first person to stay in that room. The bathroom was modern and fully equipped for what we needed. Safety: The on site parking felt really secure and gets locked up after midnight. The front door it's opened from inside so it's not an easy place to get into from people unwelcome.
Great little hotel, with very friendly staff. We had a family room which was a good size and clean. We had breakfast in the price, which offered tea, coffee, juice, cereal, cooked breakfast, toast and jam. Standard cooked breakfast 2 bacon, 1 sausage, 1 egg, 1 tined tomato, and beans. Car park had electric hookup and is secured over night. Only complaint was mattress was not really firm enough for me and felt like I had a spring in my hip. But it was hot so we slept on the duvet cover and just used the flat sheet to sleep under, as bed has both a fitted and flat sheet. There is also a small tesco convinience across the road.
For me I could not ask for more for the price, friendly welcome by the owner, breakfast at time requested and cooked well. Great value with parking and breakfast included. Room comfortable, clean, tidy and warm. 10-15 minute walk from 5 star restaurants. Appreciate this hotel might not appeal to all so check out the pictures/reviews.
Stayed here for 1 night, was welcomed by a lovely lady. The room was exceptionally clean, comfortable and well equipped. Beds where very comfortable and the hotel was very quiet. Breakfast was very good and all staff where welcoming and polite. Would highly recommend and I will be returning again in the future.
Perfect location for a trip into Birmingham!! Less than 3 miles the city centre. A bus stop is literally just outside too. It takes about 20 minutes to get to Coley Row. In terms of the hotel itself, I have to admit, the decor is not to my taste. It's old fashioned and dated in my opinion. The room itself though does what you'd expect, with some minor exceptions mainly no air-con, and no toiletries in the bathroom. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful however. Overall, I would recommend.
Stayed for 2 nights over the August bank holiday and it was exceptional. My wife and I thought the breakfast, cleanliness of the whole hotel and helpfulness/friendliness of the staff far exceeded our expectations for the money we paid. We also have a 1 year old and there was a cot with blankets in place when we arrived in the evening, ready for them to go straight to sleep. Can't find a single fault. Great location too, only 10 minutes from the centre, Tesco Express and bus stops right outside.
The room exceeded my expectations. I loved the wall art in the room and in reception. Transport links buses into the city centre were very accessible. There was a Tesco across the street which was marvelous. The only downside was the fridge in the room did not seem to work when I plugged it in maybe I needed to give it more time. Other than that it was lovely.
Excellent room. Very clean and spotless bathroom. All toiletries provided. Tasteful interior decor. Fresh breakfast. Ample safe parking. Exceptional staff. Will stay again.
Had a great night out in Birmingham, the hotel was lovely, staff were pleasent and the breakfast in the morning was delicious. Would definitely stay again. Only issue was the time it takes the taxis to get from Birmingham center to the hotel, but worth it.
Cold and outdated B&B My family and I stayed here a few weeks ago and were extremely disappointed. The rooms were very cold as the radiators were off. When we asked about it the manager did provide help, but kept saying that we needed to wait as heating was only on during set times of the day. In the end only one room became luke warm and the other two rooms had no heat from the radiator and remained cold. There were also no extra heaters we could use so it was very uncomfortable. There were also problems with the windows as they would not close properly. The fridges were extremely old and loud and kept us up, as if were sleeping in a bad underwater marine experience. The rooms had a homely feel but the carpet felt like it was 100 years old. It was very dusty in the room which flared up my asthma. The rooms were also very dark, and the TV were tiny and in two out of the three rooms the TVs did not work properly showing a very limited number of channels. The staff kept saying it must be that other residents had caused the TV not to work, and left it at that. Extremely unhelpful. The shower rooms looked good but were not functional. The water from the showers were luke warm and the pressure very low. They rooms were also dimly lit which made getting ready very difficult. To their credit the breakfast was good value and well cooked. Most of the staff were friendly but on our last day we met an extremely rude woman at reception who kept trying to push us out of our rooms before our check out time. She made us feel unwelcome which was disappointing and upsetting. To top it off the hallway lights did not work and so in the evening we had to muddle about in the dark. We did tell the staff but again they said ‘it should work’ and didn’t help any further. Overall, this is a flat no from me and I would not recommend it.
