We came on lunchtime when the place was almost empty. Ordered or food and waited patiently (don't wait for table service you order at the bar). Firstly they weren't very quick. But that if I'm honest is the only down side of what was a very good dining experience. We ordered the 'Long Au Revoir' burger and the 'Old Smokey' pizza accompanied by the 'Cheese Garlic Bread'. The garlic bread was light and tasty as was the pizza, good quality ingredients with plenty of toppings this proved to be a hit with my wife. The burger was amazing. The beef patty was tasty and rustic in a home made kind of way. The bacon complimented it perfectly and the blue cheese wasn't to overpowering. The chips though a little over cooked very perfectly acceptable. My only gripe and it's purely a personal taste thing is that I would have liked a brioche bun rather than a seeded one but like I said that is a personal thing and in no way a reflection of the quality of food. The food is served as you would expect in a rustic manner on wooden or slate boards, I know some people have moaned about this but I really don't see the issue. The whole place is rustic and in my opinion this just adds to it. The cakes that were on display looked great though we were to full to try them! We were given a complimentary drink due to our wait for food so I can't really complain about anything. All in all a really pleasant experience with great food and friendly helpful staff. Definitely one to visit!

Such a fab place and such a refreshing addition to Merthyr Town centre! Great for coffee and cake or lunch/dinner. Free WiFi is awesome if you are working remotely and staff are always really friendly. Also do good vegan pizza!

Great, friendly service. The Yankee burger was good although the onion rings were standard frozen stuff. Interesting decor with a decent atmosphere.
