Love the Sunday carvery the food is delicious, plenty of it always tastes fresh and the selection of meat and veg is excellent. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, they are very attentive and always pleasant. Sue (Cwmbran )

Clean but dated, shower goes hot and cold, basic upkeep of the place could be better, room too hot with no option to turn it down.....windows steamed up. Breakfast dull, you could make a sole for your shoe with the bacon. Staff were good but looked overworked.

Great staff and great food. Very dated inside and top floor has no pressure for the shower so no hot water. It very hot in the rooms even with windows open the fan doesn't do anything. The bathroom door is loud to shut and my shower head didn't fit so had to hold but it didn't matter as I had no hot water so went to a friend's on the first floor. Only free socket was behind the bed so had to put the bed out to use. My view was lovely though.

I was there last weekend. Unfortunately I tripped over and broke a bone in my leg. However although a bit dated, the staff were absolutely amazing and so was the food. cant thank them enough for their help, so much appreciated. Plus the bed was lovely and comfortable.xxx

Merthyr is far from the nicest place in the world so this fits in quite nicely to the surrounding area although not nearly as rough. Staff were nice and helpful throughout our stay. We were placed near the top of the building, the room was spacious, heating worked nicely as it was freezing and very windy outside. TV worked fine although had limited channels. Every aspect of the hotel was very dated, bed wasnt overly comfortable and shower pressure and temperature were terrible. Due to the severe wind and windows that didn't shut properly, I had an awful nights sleep. There was also a large amount of loud anti-social behavour outside late at night. I didn't sample the hotel food and there's not a great choice locally either.
