Have to edit my review... Second visit and the shine has definitely worn off. Slow table cleaning meant a short wait for a table (I think they were short staffed). Very slow service this time, the servers were very busy though, so not from laziness. We're convinced someone in the kitchen had to run to the shop to get banana or milk or something for our shakes. The shakes were extremely thin, basically sugar flavoured milk with whipped cream and sprinkles. The cake was good though, just don't bother with the shakes, get tea instead. Previously 4 stars, now 3 at best. Tucked away under a retro/vintage collection of shops, this cafe has an interesting selection of teas, baked goods and desserts such as massive milkshakes and more. There's also an assortment of hats to wear, and you may be surprised by a song or two!

Not impressed. No windows at all. Garnish decoration. Did not notice a food rating. White rabbit and queen of hearts looking after customers. Not sure how good the food is, did not try. Cafe hidden away, not easy to find, signposting poor. Just did not feel right to me ,maybe as it is underground but still no windows and no food rating!!

Alice in Wonderland theme, similar to the white rabbit tea shops but more directed at children. A converted store room so no windows but done well to give the underground in a rabbit hole feel. Beautiful use of fairy lights, old books, childrens old furniture and toys that messes with perspective and what's up or down. Staff. When we were there one of waitresses sang a song from the little mermaid, a lovely surprise (a guest waitress). All the staff dress as story book characters and customers wearing silly hats is encouraged (hat box available if you didn't bring your own). Some of the staff are a bit grump, which is strange when they are dressed as a large white rabbit. Toilets There isn't one here, you need to use the attached shops toilets, 2 flights of stairs up, you will need a door code too, which I wasn't told (back down again code please, thank you grrrr!). no disabled toilet access that I saw. Food and drink. The afternoon tea was good quality sandwiches, scones and beautifully shaped cakes. Sadly no flexibility with changing any of the sandwiches (change the salmon for ham, no chance, but no biggie) A good range of loose leaf teas all served on old mismatch tea sets to keep with the mad hatter tea party feel, nice big tea pot too. Overall Good food and tea, reasonably priced, awkward toilets, good and bad staff (luck of the draw), beautiful surroundings. Definitely not for your little power ranger but more traditional fairytale loving children will love this and the child at heart adult too.

Great experience, different to the norm-but that’s the point! Great, attentive staff. Good fun & good value for money, give it a try!

The location is a bit odd. Very interesting decor. Afternoon tea was a bit measly and service a bit slapdash for an afternoon tea. Had to ask for milk and sugar. The waitress came round with magic dust and tried to put on a bit of a show but it was more strange than anything as there wasn't enough of it to make it work. Toilets are about 3/4 flights of stairs up, which is a nightmare when you are 8 months pregnant or have physical problems. When I got to the toilets the code didn't work the first 4 times I tried. Why did they need a code anyway? Door was difficult to get in. Very basic facilities once in. They've made a very peculiar place quirky, I'll give them that, but it is essentially a basement level converted garage, that's not very well disguised. It was a very different experience and interesting from a kids perspective I suppose.
