Though not local, I come here as a SEN tutor. Very friendly and helpful staff. Teas/coffees/biscuits are generously offered. Excellent resources i e., books, computers, study spaces and much more for everyone to make the most of And tea/coffee everyday 10-3
An excellent library, I had visited a number of times when younger but recently visited so kids could do some more books on the reading challenge. The library assistant was great at talking to them, asking what they liked / what their favourite was etc. They were also able to do an activity to find some characters round the library. There is a nice area for small kids to play on the floor and do duplo, as well as some nice seats for kids to sit and read / do colouring in.
We went in to sign up our grandchildren to the winter reading scheme.nSuch a welcoming place!nLovely people..and a library trail for our grandchildren. A free hot drink was available too . Just brilliant.
Witham Library is a fantastic place to visit! I take my kids every 2–3 weeks to borrow new books and return the old ones. The library has a lovely space where children can enjoy reading, do crafts, and colouring. It’s truly heartwarming to see the library thriving. I highly recommend all Witham locals make use of this wonderful place and help ensure it stays open for generations to come.nnOne suggestion: it would be great to improve the selection of books for children aged 7 and above. As regular visitors, we often find the options limited and need to reserve books in advance.
Bizarre and backwards attitudes.nI personally did not find the staff very friendly.nThey refused to photocopy a couple of A4 medical documents from my GP which I urgently needed, because I was not a member of the library, even though I offered to pay for them.nBut advised me they could do it if I signed up and joined.nOf course I refused. Now had they have done so I would have considered joining.nOdd place, odd staff
