Its a little museum in an old mining village in the Rhymney Valley. It has specialist exhibitions with themes of e.g WW1 or as in at the moment the mining community and Elliots Pit which it is situated on top of. The original winding engine is still on site and can be seen working but best to check with the museum for hours and days it can be seen in action. There is an area where you can have a coffee and a bite to eat and another exhibition room with history of the area. it is a nice little museum where can while away an hour

Wonderful local attraction. Great displays of surrounding area history. Should be advertised more.

Not been to winding house for some time but good to discover yet another well presented exhibition on mining Always a good place to take my granddaughter who loves it
