In January, my family and I relocated from Dublin, Ireland to London for a work assignment. Of all the estate agencies we dealt with, Winchester White Jake and team were by far the most professional and consultative. Our experience to date with the agency has been positive and I've been impressed with the level of compassion they show to tenants. On top of this, the employees are friendly and speedy in their communications. I'd have no hesitation referring Winchester White to any tenant.
My deposit hasn’t been returned yet since I moved out. It’s been one month and a half. Also they try to deduct every single one which wasn’t on the check-in report. Anyone would like to find a rent through Winchester, you have to put every single tiny one in the report. Email discussion contents wouldn’t be acceptable. In general, before making the contract they are so nice and professional but after that I can’t say anything. There is Jake and Alexa who are so helpful but no one else. I hope my deposit issue will be done quickly. And if there is anyone from Winchester, could you please let me know your chief’s email address for me? Thank you.
From my first meeting with Jake, it was clear that Winchester White is filling a gap in the rental market, providing an experience and a high level of customer service delivered by the whole team. The fact they only work in the rental space and not sales as well, was one of the reasons I was keen for my first consultation and meeting. At this meeting, I learned that this specialty meant their whole process is geared around matching the "right" profile of tenant with a landlord's requirements....rather than just getting the tenancy filled. The lettings team; Ines, Alisha and Sarah were equally brilliant during viewings and their level of professionalism and care in showing prospective tenants through my property reassured me I had made the right choice in my selection of a lettings agency. If you're a landlord and are beginning your search and due diligence, do yourself a favour and get in touch with Winchester White.
Sarah Wareham was instrumental in assisting my partner and I to secure our first property in London. She provided information and support each step of the way, and provided updates on timings. Jake was also very efficient in providing information and updates. We are looking forward to moving into our new property!
I have been very impressed with the service that Jake Hirons-Palmer and the Wimbledon team has given me over the past 4 years. They always act in a highly professional manner, are very helpful and friendly, always contactable and follow through on all actions. I can highly recommend them!
I'm renting through Winchester White at the moment. The initial experience was good, they got the deal done efficiently with a very smooth process. There have been a couple of occasions where they have fixed issues in the house fairly quickly during the early part of the tenancy. However in the last 6 months their response rate has become slow and even on occasions asking us to locate trades people ourselves to fix structural issues. The most alarming recent one was a report I made of a leaky drain in the bathroom coming through the ceiling. It's been 5 days without a response. The home when we moved in was a smart home with a lot of different and confusing functions. Noone took the time to show us around the home or any information on maintenance etc. I feel like they are a complacent estate agency much different to the one I use for the flat I personally own and rent out.
In their dealings with my daughter and her fiancé they demonstrated a complete lack of professional competence and integrity. Starting with blatant lies about how great the landlord was at the very first meeting with them, encouraging a 'bidding war' with another potential tenant and ending with failure to send in cleaners contracted at the end of the tenancy by my daughter and incompetence in receiving the keys at vacation. I personally delivered them to the branch on my daughter's behalf where a young woman was extremely rude, telling me in a derogatory manner ‘You don't need a receipt'. They then later claimed the keys had not all been handed in and put my daughter and her fiancé under duress to take the responsibility for this but then actually found them. During the tenancy the landlord proved time and time again how not to behave when dealing with tenants throughout their year-long tenancy. I have been a landlord for over 25 years so am well aware of the process and expected relationship with tenants. She made threats both verbal and written and was generally extremely difficult to deal with over even the slightest issue, demonstrating inappropriate behaviour such as entering the property without notice, emailing with complete disregard for GDPR rules and many other failures that were unacceptable, including retaining a £1500 deposit at the end of the tenancy over a claim for a 'loose toilet seat' even though cleaners had been in to the property after they had vacated and the new tenant had been in situ for three days. This was only released after my advice to notify the agent they would be taking this matter to the Tenancy Dispute Service. For all these reasons they cannot be recommended for rentals and if this is their standard behaviour, for anything else either.
Spoke to a lady called Alisha… honestly the loveliest estate agent we’ve spoken with to date! Was so kind, informative and just a genuine person to be in contact with. Would definitely recommend this estate agents for ANY queries and would like to give an extra special thanks to Alisha for even just the first initial conversation! Not many estate agents are so down to earth when you first speak with them!
I asked this Agency twice to confirm they had made tenants aware of shared access & they never bothered to respond. However, they were happy to subsequently freely pass on my contact details to a third party without permission, so they obviously got the emails. In the same email string they had gone to great pains to ensure they had permission to pass on their tenants details to the third party. Not great behaviour!
