We had a great afternoon. Lots of space for hiking, cycling. Lots of attractions for children.
The best place to visit near Milton Keynes. Very easy to reach from North London as well. Lots to do and in the Summer / Holidays there is always something extra on. Walking trails round the lake, water park, splash Park, childrens play grounds which seem to get bigger over the years. Nice pub and restaurant and grill as well. If your looking for something to do outside with the family, let the children run and get some free exercise. Very good place for picnic. Lots of activities and plenty of parking spaces. Toilets facilities are very good clean. Over all one of the best place to come with family and friends for whole day picnic.
‘Slightly’ compromised by a major arterial dual carriageway running straight through the middle of it, this is nonetheless a lovely park with a double lake that offers habitat to many waterfowl
Amazing experience and lovely atmosphere A must visit with family or couples Home made ice cream. Fancy a pint! Activities for kids and adults. Plus, swimming pool. Carpark was £1.50 for 2 hours.
Amazing day out for a child’s birthday party at the Splash play followed by picnic in the park and then a ride on the observation wheel. It was a fun day out for the whole family with plenty to do and keep the children occupied. We had around 45 minutes at the splash play though you have to book beforehand to avoid disappointment as there were signs it was fully booked on the day. We took a walk along the lake and spotted swans and ducks. Parking paid by cash or card via the matching or using the Ringo app/ ref. Parking tariff charges as advertised.
Great day out with the kids. Nice big play area, variety of water activities pedalos, paddle boards, canoes, nearby cafes/ restaurants.
Lovely place to visit in Milton Keynes. Willen lake has really improved and become a must visit area. Loads of parking. Best to arrive early to get a spot as it gets very busy. We arrived at 10am and it was starting to fill up. Love the new splash park. You have to Book and pay online. It’s big area with loads of bits. It’s not too crowded as they limit the number of kids per session. And observation wheel. It’s like a mini millennium wheel. Lovely on a clear day. You get a good 3 rounds on this and it’s a fantastic experience. Boating is a must when you visit. Loads of boats for hire and you get an hour to paddle around. Staff are always on watch and help those in trouble. Other water sports are available too. Great areas for picnics. Small playground area which the kids enjoyed.
Loved it here. So peaceful! Plenty of parking. A truly beautiful spot. Some restaurants and attractions if you want. I preferred a picnic on the grass looking out over the lake. Loved all the birds and wildlife.
Beautiful lake with lots of extra activities, if you wish to do so. There is a car park, and though it is reasonably priced, parking was a nightmare. That was to be expected, I guess, as it was 28 degrees and the afternoon. My advise would be to get there early if possible. We enjoyed time out on the lake on a pedalo, which cost £20 for 40 minutes. The wheel looks lovely but I found it a little underwhelming. I would definitely recommend Willen Lake, and I can't wait to return to go on the high ropes, for a walk and a picnic.
One of my favourite places to perambulate and relax. A full circuit around both lakes takes about 40 minutes. During Summertime it's extremely busy especially at weekends and not as relaxing. Lots of facilities and parking on the Big Wheel side, including pubs, hotels and restaurants. As well as the Watersports centre. My only gripe is that on the far side of the lake there isn't a single bin, let alone dog pooh bin which is just baffling. ‍ If this is ever fixed i will update my rating, because really the place deserves at least 4*. Staff really do great work keeping the place looking nice. Update 10.07.22 Despite there STILL not being any bins on the far side of the lakes for pooh bags, or other litter, i had the most beautiful walk this Hot and Sunny Sunday morning, and cannot give the places less than 4 stars now @Parks Trust, it would be FIVE if only you sorted out the bins situation. i am not exaggerating when i say that EVERY SINGLE PERSON i said hello to replied with "hello" and a smile. Well, actually, there was one older lady, sitting on the new benches by the adventure playground, staring at the swans, who looked very... Sad, and didn't offer much of a response but i think she had other things on her mind, bless her. If i see her again i will try again. For some reason i'm reminded of Ricky Gervais's After Life. Anyway, the training equipment the Parks Trust have added are phenomenally useful and well thought out. There's a new Brewer's Fayre just the other side of the WOW Big Wheel which looks shiney and new but the Pub on the main strip was already heaving as was the promenade by 11.30am when i left.
