I went in a bit stumped as to what racket to buy, and left feeling very clued up and happy with my new Yonex Ezone 98. I met a very nice and knowledgeable salesman called Richard who I explained my problems on the court too and he showed me rackets which would help my ability and style. Will definitely coming back in the future!
Wigmore is a one-stop shop for tennis players. The service is outstanding. The advice given for rackets and strings is very valuable and professional. Have used the racket stringing services regularly because it is done flawless.
It's a good store but be careful with their "advice" - actually it's a sale pitch. I know my racquets and when I ask them questions, I feel they give bad advice, so do your research online and take what they say with a pinch of salt
Wow!! The knowledge and experience of the staff here is second to none! Kyle’s customer service was remarkable, I learnt so much about rackets which has helped so much with choosing a new racket. I highly recommend this shop… Tennis Heaven thanks Kyle
I was disappointed with my experience here. They sell older versions of current rackets V2 as opposed to V4 and don't state this when promoting them. As an uninformed beginner, they take advantage, as they could suggest you buy direct from Wilson etc, for a few pounds more, and explain the advantages you may get from doing so. The lack of racket shops in London means Wigmore get away with low standards. I wish I didn't buy from them, and will not be returning there. Staff also appear jaded, and have no excitement about them, and wish they were elsewhere.
Most professional racket shop I've been in. Guys at the stringing station are pros.
Knowledgeable staff, good selection. HOWEVER I bought two top of the line racquets and they refused to offer me a true refund for one racquet only in-store credit, which I don’t know what to do with since I don’t buy my gear in the UK and won’t need a racquet for many years. Noting that I didn’t even leave the store with that racquet, and that it wasn’t even strung, so they had absolutely no reason to refuse to offer me a full refund. Very sad they treat their customers that way, given that I could have bought those racquets online for cheaper but went out of my way to help out a local store. I’ll buy my next racquets online now, thanks very much.
Very knowledgeable staff. I strongly recommend parents to visit this store, as they make sure your child has the right racquet - grip size, strings, tension setup, etc.
Wigmore Sports is hands down one of the best tennis stores in London. Their knowledgeable and friendly staff take the time to understand your needs and offer expert advice. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned player, they’ll help you find the right equipment tailored to your game. The stringing service is also exceptional—fast and precise.
I went into the store today, with genuine excitement as I have recently got into Tennis and I was keen on getting the right gear to enjoy it even more. I was in the store for around 10 mins and no one said anything to me, no offer to help. I even looked at one of the sales people and greeted him with “Morning” he didn’t reply and barely acknowledged me. I went downstairs to try on some trainers, no one followed me to offer any help. There were 4 sales staff unoccupied on the first floor. Which meant if it wasn’t for such a hostile awkward atmosphere I would have had to go back up two flights of stairs to ask about size and availability etc. I decided not to bother because of the whole experience. I went back upstairs browsed around a little more to see if anyone would approach me after being in the store for 10 minutes. No one did. I left and said thanks to the guy just by the door - I think he may have murmured take care. What a disappointing experience. Basic levels of customer service non existent. It doesn’t take much to make a customer feel valued or welcome - imagine being a beginner and having all that enthusiasm for the sport killed in an instant by stepping in to your store. I won’t be coming here again.
