I cannot recommend Ellis Brigham highly enough. I visited the Covent Garden store to purchase a backpack and was so impressed with the helpful, knowledgeable, supportive service I received that I am leaving my first ever public review. I was particularly impressed with the advice not to buy a bag from their store and to go elsewhere because we couldn’t find one which perfectly matched my needs. As a result, I returned today to buy a pair of hiking boots and was again met with exemplary knowledge and support, and was again advised to go elsewhere to try a wider variety of boots on when the ones in store did not meet my needs. I ended up going to their store in St Pauls to try a recommendation on and was delighted to find a perfect fit. Because of the store’s clear focus on customer satisfaction, I will return any time I am looking for outdoor gear, and will encourage everyone I know to do the same.
I would’ve hoped this store had a bigger selection of rock climbing shoes at a wider price range, but I’m putting 5 stars because of the staff members here who were super helpful to me. In particular, there was a young guy with a mullet and earrings I wish I caught his name who was extremely thorough and made me feel comfortable despite my indecision lol. Hope he and the owners know how cool he is! :

I had a booking for footwear fitting: staff very helpful but they didn't perform the gait analysis, which for me was kind of the point of booking a specialist fitting...This was extremely disappointing, because my partner had a fitting three months ago and he got the gait analysis, and I have seen a review from 3 weeks ago that also mentions it. The shoes I purchased seem good, unless of course they turn out to be completely inappropriate for me because I didn't get the gait analysis to ascertain what type of shoes I really needed. To be fair, this put me off making an appointment and coming specifically to this shop in the future: unfortunately it didn't deliver on what promised about specialist fitting, one could find the same service somewhere else. Sad.
Booked a 2-hour ski boot fitting appointment. Appointment on-time. I have skied many times so knew how the boots should feel. Very professional and courteous staff member Ed gave me excellent advice. Came away with a new pair of ski boots :
The assistant that helped was very nice and appeared knowledgeable, however there was limited stock so I got to try 2 boots neither were the right size. I didn’t leave with details of my measurements either. Very disappointing I’m afraid need to start all over again booking another fitting elsewhere. Not sure I’d recommend. X
Bought ski boots today and had them fitted by Tony who was incredible. Made sure they were a perfect fit and nothing was too much trouble. Can not recommend Tony enough - customer service 5*
10/10 ski boot fitting experience with Ed Spent a patient two hours measuring feet, trying multiple boots, moulding footbeds and providing invaluable advice. Enjoyed every minute, dont think you’ll get better service anywhere else. Cheers mate!!! Boots are a dream.
Toby's expertise was really helpful for a recent ski boot fitting. His professional and informed approach was ideal for breaking down boot jargon and helpful for choosing boots which were right for me. Excellent service !
Ordered an item, and chose the click and collect option from the shop. Got home to open my click and collect package, just to find the item inside with it's sealed broken and fingerprint marks all over the glasses lenses. I ordered a brand new item. When raising it with their customer care service, they asked me if I could take it back to the shop, like I have time to waste going back and forth to this shop. So I had to pay for a returns postage, even though this was out of my control. So much for free returns for faulty items. This will be the last time buying anything from this place.
