We had a great time River Bugging on the Dee. Clive was our instructor, very knowledgeable and just wanted us to have a good time.nWe started with a briefing, got changed, taken up river in a minibus and then the fun started. This is a great river. Exciting rapids spaced out with flatter bits where we could try to stand up. We also had a go at wave riding on the rapids. We were out for about 2 hours and had an absolutely brilliant time. Clive took pictures and air dropped them at the end. Thank you Clive for a great day out.
On a Sunday sun-kissed morning in North Wales, I found myself standing at the edge of the River Dee in Llangollen. The water sparkled, its surface rippling with anticipation. I was about to embark on a white-water rafting adventure that would etch memories into my soul.nnOur group 4 of us gathered at the Riverbanc center, where our guides from Whitewater Active welcomed us. Their passion for adventure was contagious, and their safety briefing left no room for doubt. Clad in wetsuits and life jackets, we were ready to conquer the rapids. Special thanks to JOSH our instructor and he was the best in the world. He guided all the rules and regulations to us. He was friendly with usnnThe journey began at the Horseshoe Falls, a picturesque spot where the river curved gracefully. Our raft bobbed, and adrenaline surged as we hit the first rapid—Serpents Tail. Water sprayed, laughter echoed, and we paddled with synchronized determination. The river roared, challenging us to hold on.nnNext came Tombstones, a rapid that lived up to its name. Waves crashed against our raft, drenching us. Our guide steered skillfully, and we whooped like children. Then, Town Falls approached—a crescendo of excitement. We plunged down, hearts pounding, and emerged victorious.nnAs we floated downstream, I stole glances at the lush green hills and ancient stone bridges. Our screaming and our enthusiasm watched by many Families and friends from the Llangollen bridge, cheering us on. Their smiles fueled our determination. We navigated twists and turns, our laughter echoing off the cliffs.nnThe journey lasted two and a half hours, leaving us exhilarated and soaked. We shared stories, bonded with fellow adventurers, and marveled at the rugged beauty around us. The River Dee had woven its magic, and we were forever changed.nnWhether you’re a seasoned rafter or a first-timer, Llangollen’s rapids promise an unforgettable experience. So, grab a paddle, embrace the spray, and let the River Dee carry you into a world of adventure.nnTo avoid last minute disappointment please do prior booking. It cost around 65 Pounds per person it's quite expensive but worth paying. Also they take some stunning photographs which cost around 20 Pounds. They send you the URL to download the photos. I strongly recommend buying those photos.nnRemember the don't have parking facility So you need to make your own arrangements. VisitnParkopedia to find the nearest parking.nnRemember, every rapid has a story—each splash, each twist, a chapter waiting to be written. Capture the essence of your rafting escapade, and let your words flow like the river itself. Trust me Wales never disappoint anyone. It's having some magic and it attracts people every time.
We all had a fantastic time rafting on the Dee at Llangollen. Whitewater Active were very skilled at making everybody feel safe and ensuring that we all had an enthralling time. It was one of my 60th birthday presents and sharing the whole experience in a small inflatable boat with the family was fabulous. Rafting was a great experience and I’d highly recommend it. Instructors, Johnny and Pete were both awesome. Good safety briefings and instruction, accompanied by good banter. As a family of 4, 2 children aged 10 & 16, we thoroughly enjoyed it. It is quite pricey, but if you’re after something ‘different’ to the usual family day out, it’s worth it.
A great set up. With well trained, competent, friendly and patient staff. It was only myself and my nephew. I’m 60, although I found it exhausting we had an enjoyable and exhilarating, but not rushed afternoon.nI would suggest you do need a certain, good amount of fitness as it is a physical activity.nnI was at a disadvantage as understandable you cannot wear and best not to wear specs, if you have contact lens there is a good chance they may get washed out.
