How can you justify over £17 for a portion of fish and chips?nI really should have cancelled the order, but I'm on holiday and wanted to treat myself.nI was expecting the best fish and chips I've ever tasted, but my chippie at home is better and charges £10.nI don't like leaving a negative review, but unfortunately there's nothing positive I can say.
Supposed to be premium fish and chips, well tonight they were well off the mark. Fish was overcooked and in places resembled a piece of leather ! Scrappy chips you'd struggle to find one of a decent size, a lot of small scraps. Obviously a bad day, previous visit when the cafe was also open was much better.
Really nice big fat chips. Had a big bag of chips for me and my wife. Didn't need a big bag really as there was loads of them. But we did our best lol
Thought we would try here as was recommended to us. I had the spicy bean burger and chips, Partner had cod and chips. I must say that is probably the best spicy bean burger I have ever had. Partner really enjoyed the cod. Only downer was that our 2 cold drinks we ordered took maybe half hour to come. Apart from that, Would definitely recommend eating here.
The food was just ok. The mush peas were stone cold, but the pie, and fish & chips were ok. However, I do think it was over priced.nThe staff were a little rude and never came to check how things were, we had to get condiments ourselves and ask for the bill.
