Whilst in the past it has spiraled into a pit of terrible quality drinks and disgusting food it has since reopened under new management. The owners are inviting and the food quality has dramatically improved. I asked to see the kitchen beforehand as a precaution and they happily obliged. What I saw was a pristine working area with quality ingredients to make fresh food as ordered. I highly recommend that people go and see for yourselves with how much it has improved over the past under the new owners.
We had a disappointing experience here last night. I appreciate they haven’t been open long but the issues we experienced were basic errors that were all avoidable. Firstly when the rice arrived they were all cold, these were swiftly replaced. Although we were one of only 3 tables occupied in the restaurant the service wasn’t great. My brother in law ended up having to go to the bar and order more drinks as he had waited for so long for someone to come and take his order. Our ice bucket was put on an adjacent table and left there so we had to get it and help ourselves. Service was also slow considering they weren’t busy and when we finally ordered coffee there was no decaffeinated or any soya milk strange for a Chinese restaurant. We might have turned a blind eye to some of this had we not then been given a 10% service charge on our bill we were only a table of 4. It didn’t state on the bill that this was optional so we felt obliged to pay it. I don’t think this was acceptable after the service we received. A real shame as we really wanted to like this restaurant as it would be a halfway meet up place for us and my family to meet. On the plus side the decor was lovely and staff friendly!
I took my daughter here for a meal. We were made to feel welcome, and service was good. The food was outstanding, best Thai food we had eaten. On top of this they had a special Monday nights offer which gave us a great dining experience for less than £40. Excellent restaurant and good value.
We saw a sign outside advertising Dim Sum from 12pm to 2pm, so decided to try it out. It was very quiet as not many people seem to know about it serving Dim Sum - also available in the evenings from 6pm Sundays all day from 12pm. The food was really tasty and we had a nice personal service as it was so quiet. I hope more people decide to try it out as it was very nice. Maybe people are not all aware that Dim Sum is Chinese food. They use a tick-list style of ordering, which is very easy - we chose 3 steamed Dim Sum dishes, along with Chow Mein & Rice to share, probably could have managed a curry as well might try another time. Would definitely visit again!
Nice meal, restaurant obviously relatively newly opened and they’re just trying to find their feet but owners were really friendly & service was good. Food was impressive, clearly cooked fresh to order & far better than your run of the mill takeaway Chinese food that most people would compare to. Looking forward to our next visit.
In response to the owner....To say a customer is naive is damn right rude! we didn't know the restaurant had changed hands but regardless of that fact we still expect good service & food. Its no wonder you have no customers with an attitude like that! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!! Booked a table for 14/2/19....based on visiting previously we assumed it would be the same as it had been. Turning up we should have realised it wasn't the same....it was dead! previously when visiting it was heaving! The food was poor & not worth the money! we paid £60 for the pleasure & won't be returning. we've also never been somewhere that adds a service charge onto the bill! surely it's up to the customer is they'd like to leave a tip. our first night out on our own for a very long time due to having 2 young children & it was so disappointing. In my opinion id avoid. don't be fooled by These 5 star reviews.
The Thai food at this pub used to be superb. However, the whole setup, front of staff and kitchen looks like it's been changed to a point that it feels like the people running the place do not really know how to run a restaurant properly. Based on a recent visit, I left the place feeling like could not bring my friends and family there. It is not likely that we will return to this place.
Okay, but not as authentic as I would have liked for the price. Thai is one of the worlds finest cuisines and as beautiful as this place is, the food just doesn't match the alluring décor and ambience. We had a big party of 12 and had a two hour wait for our mains. The bill had a £12.50 prawn cracker charge that we were not happy with. We thought they were complimentary. They refused to waive it despite a £416 party spend. This left a bad taste in the mouth and consequently,I for one, would not be eager to return.
Worst Thai food ever tasted. Red chicken curry had 5 pound coin sized pieces of chicken Pad Thai resembled something like the dog produced yesterday morning Our kids eat everything and gave a generous two out of ten and asked for last nights broccoli cold from the fridge instead Really disappointed in everything about this expensive take away. No one in the restaurant at 8pm on a Saturday night - should have known better. AVOID!!!
Pub & restaurant look great after being refurbished & when we visited the place was immediately clean. The atmosphere was friendly & there seemed to be a mix of locals & people visiting from further afield. Tony & Yan the new owners were really inviting, even putting on the TV for our son who was with us. Can’t wait to go back & try the food - it all looks amazing! Great to find a local pub thats not been turned into a Co-op - we need to use places like this, an independently owned restaurant & bar as nice as this is a rare find.
