DO NOT USE THIS GARAGE!! (0 STARS) I took my car here as the front coil spring has snapped and needed replacing. My wife collected the car after the repair and the owner / manager informed my wife that when the spring had snapped it damaged the break / ABS sensor cable and it would cost us £200 for a new one, then said "here's your keys, thanks very much, oh and 3 of your warning lights are on". We drove home over 100 miles from Wales the previous day and no lights were on then. Also there was a problem with the steering and was heavier than before. They had clearly damaged the cable as when the spring snapped it hadn't fell out from its position, I actually removed it and placed this in my boot. After speaking to the owner / manager and informed him of all this he then spoke to the mechanic (if you can call him that) who wasn't 100% sure the lights were on then admitted he damaged the cable and tried to fix it with insulation tape. They have fixed the problem but I have no confidence in the repair. You can see below the botched cable repair they tried to fob me off with. DO NOT USE THIS GARAGE, THEY ARE DISHONEST!!!

We brought our car to you a couple of weeks ago as it was loosing break fluid. We chose to bring it to you as you were local and we had had dealings with you in the past where you had always seemed quite reasonable and trustworthy. Clearly we were mistaken. My partner had to take a day off work in order to get the work done as you only do MOTs at weekends, so he brought it first thing as you requested, and was told he would receive a call when you'd had a look and determined the problem so you could do the work and then he could collect it. By 3pm we had still had no call, so he called you to check up on the progress at which point you informed him that you'd looked at the car and there was no faults so he could come and collect it. My partner asked if you'd checked the brake pads and brake lines knowing that wear of these are common reasons for loss of brake fluid and you assured him they were fine. We have since taken our car to another garage as the problem was getting worse only to be told that the brake pads were so worn they were below the legal limit. So clearly you had not checked them or you would have seen that.. could you not be bothered!? It was it just too much energy to waste on replacing them when you had more expensive jobs in!? You assured us there was no problem, you could see we had a baby seat in the back of the car, what if the brakes had failed because we hadn't persisted in getting them checked, god forbid what could have happened. Or what if we were pulled over and inspected, the car would have been seized, leaving a young working family without transport. I am disgusted, you have failed in your duty of care to a paying customer. I will NEVER be using you again and I will be informing friends and family, several of which use you also, and I am sure they will feel the same way. You should be ashamed.

UTTERLY DREADFUL EXPERIENCE (ZERO STARS AWARDED) We have been using this garage for several years for mot on three vehicles, together with small repairs along the way. One of our cars recently had a power steering fluid leak on it so it was brought you for inspection. Your diagnosis was a faulty steering rack. We put our trust in you totally but for some bizarre reason this repair took you two weeks to complete. This was only the start of this nightmare. For two weeks your communication was non existent with us constantly asking what's going on to be lied to on every occasion. You clearly had huge problems with this job and it was obvious to me as an auto electrician that something worrying was unfolding. When you did advise that the vehicle was ready, you then changed your mind and cancelled the vehicle collection as there was still a leak on the power steering. So, did the power steering rack really need changing at all?? Was the fault never there in the first place but you changed it anyway at huge cost? The result was not £360 , but £400 as you had to fix the 'other' leak. At no point did you contact me to advise me of this which you should have. 10 days after this repair was carried out, my partner rang me to advise me of a vehicle breakdown on the hard shoulder of the M60. gear selection was only possible in first and second gear. The vehicle was recovered to our home by the AA .As I am in the vehicle trade, I had a close look inside the engine compartment to find the clutch cable and housing hanging around the engine bay out of its stow bracket on the bulk head. This had clearly been removed to allow access to the steering rack immediately below, in fact some two inches below. Suspicious of this I stowed the clutch cable housing back into its bracket and contacted your garage. I was advised that you were overseas and nothing could be done until you returned some 10 days later. We had already lost this car for two weeks whilst you had it and could not wait any longer as my partner needed this car for work. So, we had the vehicle taken to another local garage for inspection. To our horror, the car was diagnosed as damaged gear linkage all caused by you. You had removed the gear linkage support bracket to access the steering rack installation, just like the clutch cable housing from its bracket. You didn't put the clutch cable back properly nor did you rebuild the gear linkage support. In fact the bracket was just 'wedged' into a position where it broke into two and then the gear linkage cables were under stress to the point where they broke too. The result is damaged gear linkage and bracket caused by incompetent practise and inevitable break down and loss of gear selection. This had to put right with a brand new bracket, new gear linkage and three hours labour resulting in another £380. Once done properly now this car is fine again, no thanks to you. I contacted you and you said you would speak to your mechanic and find out what had happened. your next day return call never happened, surprise surprise!!!!! You have now lost 3 customers in one day. Not only did you manage to take two weeks to do an awkward 5 or 6 hour job, you actually managed to do another £380 worth of unnecessary damage to this vehicle whilst trying to hide behind a disguise of 'wear and tear' to get you out of it. Any unsuspecting customer would have had the wool pulled over their eyes but not this one!!! Clearly caught out and your shocking other reviews are a prime example of your complete utter incompetence. THIS POST ONLY ALLOWS OF INSERTION OF MIN 1 STAR, GIVEN THE CHANCE YOU WOULD HAVE HAD THE STARS CLEARLY IN THE MINUS ZONE. ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE OF LOSING CUSTOMERS, YOU CLEARLY DESERVE IT YOU COWBOY.
