White Cross Vets: Veterinary surgery, St Helens Merseyside

One of the longest-running family-run vets in the North, White Cross Vets has been caring for pets in the North of England for over 75 years.



Founded in Yorkshire in 1937, we pride ourselves on providing total care for pets and are here to help you with all aspects of pet ownership, from choosing the most suitable family pet; through routine cat and dog vaccinations, nutrition advice for pets, pet health checks, pet dental care, pet weight management, dog and cat neutering and medical problems; to the understanding necessary with major pet surgery and geriatric pet care.



All White Cross Vets St Helens team members are pet owners themselves, so we understand how to provide highest quality pet care. The White Cross Vets in St Helens opened its doors in May 2015, so is equipped with all the latest high-tech equipment and facilities.

Dogs, cats, rabbits and other small pets are cared for by our friendly and expert team who all own pets themselves.You’ll find facilities including an operating theatre, in-house laboratory, x-ray and blood pressure monitor. I have used White Cross Vets before for my other dog and was pleased with the service so returned again. The vet service as before was excellent, the reception service was not. I arrived and told the receptionist that I had an appointment and she told me to take a seat. 45 minutes later after 5 other people going in before me I asked at receptionist about my appointment and the receptionist said she didn’t remember me booking in. Why did she think I was sat there with my distressed dog for 45 minutes? The other receptionist sorted the situation quickly and efficiently while the first receptionist made no apology or even eye contact. Apart from this stressful and frankly upsetting situation the service was as good as always with the vet fully explaining my dogs health problems and the options.
Excellent service. Kind staff who get to know your pet and make you feel comfortable. They take the time to explain options to you and are open and honest about costs.
The practice is very clean , modern with a friendly good feel as soon as you enter . The lady vet is very nice and explains everything thoroughly. Most important she is good with my dog and treats him kindly and gets him well
So happy with this surgery. My dog has his annual check up and unfortunately needed some teeth removing. He was booked in for this under GA within 2 weeks and eveything was explained to me. The price was £20 higher for the surgery on the day then first instructed on examination but noted in his check up that prices were changing and eveything from pre op exam to blood and follow up treatment and advice and checkups where all included. 10/10 cannot fault the service, felt so at ease with my dog coming in for an operation with how welcoming they were, how they were with him and how they explained everything to myself and so happy I made the move to this surgery thank you again x
Called last week and explained cat had gone missing and would need to cancel the appointment I was made to pay up front for - lady was lovely and advised I could hold appointment till day before and then cancel if cat hadn’t come back and get refund. Called this morning to cancel and received absolutely disgusting customer service. Lady on the phone put me on hold mid sentence and spoke to me like dirt throughout. Said it is her policy that I wouldn’t get the refund even though I haven’t used their services. Advised her that I had been told two times prior this wasn’t the case. Asked to raise a complaint through her and told I had to do it via email.
As mentioned previously. First class Vets, First class Service and First class Vets and Staff !! What more can I say, other than I know my cat Kobi is in the best possible hands. Thank You. Best Wishes.
Excellent vets, staff are friendly and welcoming, the vets are excellent, pricing is always shown to you before treatment is administered, always manage to get a same day appointments, very highly recommended
Very professional,friendly and knowledgeable. Helpful with questions I asked about certain concerns. My dog was at ease because she talked to him as well.
Cannot fault white cross. Always look after our 3 dogs and always manage to get in if its an emergency to the point where the vet has stayed after practice hours for a complete emergency. Completely transparent with costs and treatments. Love the place highly recommended.
Do not use these vets paying a monthly direct debit for my pets health yet they want give him the free medicine that comes with the plan because they cart be arsed to check that the payment was received for the plan. JUST FOUND MEDIVET ST HELENS ONLY CHARGE YOU £14 FOR THE PLAN THESE CHARGE £23
