"If you fancy a decent pint/drink and a chat please come and say hello. No television, games machines or background music. Customers come for a bit of conversation which ranges from the ridiculous to a bit more serious. The idea is to have a giggle and not take ourselves too seriously. Switch the phone off and come and try face to face conversation. Scary thought isn't it! Look forward to seeing you in 2021 and bring your four legged friend - lots of walks in the area just ask for directions. Dog biscuits provided for your pampered pooches!"

Outstanding local pub. Nancy the landlady is totally refreshing as a person and quite lovely to know. The bar and facilities are kept immaculately. The beer is excellent. The locals are all inclusive and friendly. The garden is pleasant and nicely kept. Good parking off-road at front of pub as well as some at rear.
If you are looking for a nice quiet village pub with good old fashioned customer service. And conversation is the main entertainment. And a Lovely setting and reasonable priced drinks then look no further. Always love coming here. Highly recommended
A true hidden little gem that has more history then any pub I've been to before. The landlady was kind, talkative and proud rightly so of her establishment. The prices were normal for any where never mind a southern village pub. Would highly recommend as it'll be the perfect stop for any hiker in the area.
A fabulous local where you can guarantee a friendly welcome and great value for money
Organised a surprise birthday party for my wife last night for about 25 people fantastic buffet provided by Nancy the landlady. Would highly recommend a visit thank you to Nancy and the wheelhouse
What at absolute gem. Time has stood still at this very traditional country local - no wall-to-wall sports, jarring "musak" gaming machines or any other distractions. Just good honest country folk, good conversation, friendly landlady and great beer. Long may it continue.
Lovely little village pub with friendly locals and my husband days the beer is good. He should know! Tonight there was a live performance by a poet called Luke Wright. It was brilliant, funny, witty, entertaining, clever and thought provoking all in an hour which left plenty of drinking time. Sad to say last evening of entertainment in the marquee until warm weather again next year.
Like stepping back in time. Beautiful old building lovingly maintained. The garden is peaceful and the delicious beer is clearly kept with care.
Really pleasant pub, very warm and friendly. Exactly what a rural pub should be.
FYI--landlady who also mans the bar and touches all the drink and food refuses to get vaccinated.
