Vibrant harbour area lined on both sides with colourful historic buildings giving it a charming appearance.nA host of cafes, pubs and restaurants attract people to the area, especially in the summer months. There's plenty to look out on while enjoying a meal or drink by the waterside, from the large array of boats to the bascule bridge. This bridge was completed in 1930 and features two sections which open to facilitate the passage of boats.nWe visited on a sunny afternoon in August when the harbour was at its busiest, and it felt lively but not overcrowded.nThere's plenty of parking at the Pavilion a couple of minutes walk away, and Weymouth is well served by public transport, with bus stops and a mainline railway station within walking distance.
What a beautiful place to visit! It is freshly renovated. We found an incredible variety of pubs and restaurants. It has amazing views over Weymouth at the end of the harbour.
Lovely harbour with plenty of pubs and restaurants and plenty of outdoor seating from which to watch the world go by. Weyfish is an excellent fish and seafood market with a great restaurant upstairs. Boat trips are available, both for fishing and sightseeing. There's also a small rowing boat that crosses the harbour, which is particularly useful when the bridge lifts to allow boats to pass through.
Beautiful harbour surrounded by lovely shops, cafes, pubs & restaurants. It’s lovely just to sit and watch the comings and goings of the boats.
Very enjoyable stroll along both sides of this picturesque harbor & town. Arrived on a cruise ship, opting to venture out on our own & soak up some uniquely European ambiance in this - our first port across 'the pond' - since crossing over from Florida ... Mission Accomplished
