We visited Camber Sands yesterday. This is a really nice beach which is almost entirely sand. There is a bit of a hill to climb to get to the beach from the car park made harder by the soft sand so infirm people may find this a struggle. There was a bit of litter around on the beach though but it didn't detract. There is a large bank of dunes behind the beach with scrub grass so it is possible to find a bit of privacy. Bathing is managed by the RNLI and the bottom is sandy with very few stones or shells. Also the shore shelves gradually and so the bathing area is shallow. The car park has free toilets.
Nice beach. Calm and not a deep sea. You can easily swim or walk in the water for about 15 to 20m. Parking for an hour is £1 but more than 3hrs is £12 which I found quiet pricey. Having saying that there is load of parking spaces. I suggest you get there as early as 11am to get good spot.
Excellent place to visit, taken dogs to camber sands couple times, bear in mind dogs are only allowed on section of beach away from cafes and main tourist area but still loads to explore, the dunes and sandy beaches are something else, parking was £6 for few hours and may be higher now so please double check,I use ringo app to book,so much easier than using change, beautiful views and location
Camber is a very nice beach but the parking charge is outrages £12.00 for a day there good place to take your dog as most beaches in the UK do not allow dogs on them
Didn’t park there. Parking was full. I’ve seen the parking staff at work amazing. Not far to the beach you have to go up the sand dunes to get to the beach itself best advice for parents leaves buggy in the car. Had a great day
Lovely once up the hill of sand its not a place for people with walking aids or wheelchair accessible.it took my kids along time to get up.once up though the view is lovely but needs toilets on site and somewhere to get food and drink not having to leave the beach as u would never get back with ur drinks so we had to wait till leaving to do food drink ice cream. .parking is expensive and I wouldn't park there again.the staff in shops are friendly.
The beach is amazing and everyone knows this. However, the toilets! Disgusting! I don't understand how it isn't a biohazard.. the smell in the heat makes you vomit! Please get cleaners in there who CLEAN and not just change the bloody loo roll!
If you want to leave your car in a car park, I recommend it, but you have to walk a little far from the center.
Great place to park but bit of a climb up the sand dune to get to the beach
The parking is large with multiple spaces, but it is very busy, nobody to show where to park, also very expensive at 12pounds for 5 hrs. The beach is with steep access, not for older people or someone with mobility issues. The beach is very busy and noisy, suitable for families with small kids not so much for adults and mature people. There are toilets but they are quite smelly. Fish and chips serve very large portions that can feed two people, for 10 pounds, and the fish is delicious, but the fish can be contaminated so not for people who are Muslim or vegetarians.
