This was our absolute favourite activity of our holiday, we enjoyed it immensely. Steve and Diane were fantastic hosts and guides, we loved all the history and stories they told us. The llamas were so sweet and gentle, and it was so fun and satisfying to walk them along, and sometimes be walked BY them if they spotted a hawthorn in the distance! We are definitely doing it again on our next holiday to the area.
I grabbed a last-minute spot on the ‘short walk’ during a break on Dartmoor, and it was the highlight of my trip! Steve and Di were brilliant guides, so friendly and knowledgeable – there was no question they couldn’t answer, be it about the llamas themselves or Dartmoor’s flora, fauna, archaeology and more. Their love for their animals and the local landscape shone through, and made the whole experience feel special and unique – not something you can do anywhere else, which is the best kind of thing to do on holiday. My llama companion, Bella, was calm and kind, it was lovely walking alongside her, listening to her breathing and communicative noises with the other llamas, and stroking her woolly neck. The walk itself was also beautiful, up to Sharp Tor where we were blessed with panoramic views and a break for coffee and cake while the llamas grazed and sunbathed. I couldn’t recommend this more highly as something to do on Dartmoor. It’s a tonic for both physical and mental health. As a typical overworked, overstressed city dweller, walking with Steve, Di and Bella did me the world of good. Thank you! I hope to be back one day!
I booked a walk as one of my wife's 50th Birthday presents We both had an amazing time. Steve and Di were amazing hosts, so friendly and knowledgeable about both the Llama's and the area we walked. I would highly recommend.
Absolutely fantastic. What an experience. Christmas present for my wife, who thought it was amazing. The Llamas, especially Marlia where lovely & great walking partners. Steve & Di provided a 5* experience which we will always remember and recommend to others. Thankyou Jon & RachaelVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Don't just ponder! Go ahead and wander... with the delightful company of llamas and generous and knowledgeable human guides. We loved our time on the Moor with Diane and the crew of llamas. A truly feel good activity, which was enjoyed enormously by us all. 100% recommend it!
A delightful experience - June 2021 with these lovely animals who follow you calmly as you do a gentle walk over the Moors. The whole family loved them. Our guide also very knowledgeable about the animals - lots of questions from the children- and about the various landmarks and terrain of beautiful Dartmoor. Lovely scone and jam lunch which the llamas carried up on Sharp Tor with magnificent views
We've had the best first experience ever walking with the llamas and alpacas this summer. My kids were so excited and couldn't wait to meet the animals. Would recommend to anyone- Dartmoor llama walk team were absolutely amazing, welcoming and very friendly. They've told us all about the llamas/alpacas and history of the moors and surrounding areas seen from up high. Also we've had a lovely little tea/cake break which really was a very special treat. Thank you all- we've been looked after very well. Will definitely be visiting again!!!
Amazing experience walking with these beautiful calm creatures on a lovely summer day out on the ancient, magnificent moors. The guide brought the history of the place alive for us. We had a lovely cream tea just below one of the tors overlooking a grand view of the valley below while the llamas rested quietly. I thought I had been transported to Narnia.
Had a 'meet and greet' with the Llamas today. A great afternoon out at a lovely location even in the rain. The Llamas are very friendly and easy to walk. The propriertors, Diane and Steve are welcoming, super friendly and very informative, providing a wonderful and entertaining time. Highly recommended.
Had a great experience . It was a truly memorable and I would love to do this again. Logan was great!
