We moved to Colchester last year and this restaurant was recommended to us. Since then we have visited the restaurant often to receive great food and service. However, this evening we ordered a takeaway and after an hour and 10 minutes we still had not received our food. I phoned the restaurant and they explained that they had not taken my number so needed it as the driver could not find us (even though they had delivered to us twice before). I phoned the driver and he would not listen to me, I gave him the postcode and he said it had taken him somewhere else?? Sure he had put in the incorrect postcode I tried speaking with him and he just kept talking over me and in the end told me I should not order takeaway and just eat in the restaurant??!! Sorry, but I thought you were employed as a driver to deliver takeaways, if everyone ate in the restaurant you would not have a job!! I phoned the restaurant and they did offer to deliver the takeaway anyway and refund the money (but the driver refused to deliver it). The driver asked me not to shout, but the only reason I was shouting was because he kept talking over me when I was trying to give him directions. The restaurant said they had nothing to say and were sorry and refunded my money. Nice to know they fight for their business! We will not be eating in the restaurant again and will definitely not be ordering a takeaway from them. Disgusting service, Jhaal is far better !!

First time visit for me and my partner. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening, the food was great as was the friendly service. We will be back. Thanks.

Standard of food was very good for a buffet. There was a good selction to choose from.
