Well, I do thrive off a bargain and they can be found galore in this store. Large Woodwick candles £14.99, range of flavours not just stinking Fig like TKMaxx, rotating stock seems different every time you pop in, don’t go elsewhere for your candles!
Ols School shopping Watt Brothers Dept Store has survived longer that most bigger branded dept stores in Glasgow that are no longer there. Now this store soon you walk in it does great range cosmetics most brands at discount prices, great choice jewellery and watches, Christmas your bound to find a couple gifts at really good prices. Give it a trey pop in next time your in town. image taken sept.
Some bargains quite good in store, can sometimes have longer wait to be served at the till if quite busy. Make up and cosmetics quite reasonably priced. And electrical etc can get some quite decent sales on.
The stock is great here however their staff could do with a lot more of training. Two weeks ago I went in to buy some double walled glasses. Two members of staff said to me that they didn't have anything like that, indeed they couldn't understand what I meant 'double walled' appearing in the box description I went downstairs, found the glasses and bought them along with other items. Today I returned a couple of items. The member of staff at the till counter said that she needed both my name and postcode to complete the refund. When I inquired why she needed this, she shouted at me about the store policy. I tried to explain to her that I was my choice to give her those details or not. Tired of being shouted at, I left the shop without taking any further action, for example taking to her manager. Better to just not come back. These instances really ruin your day. I don't really understand why I am being shouted at, is it not my right to refuse to provide personal info, i.e. postcode and full name?
The ground floor is split into two separate sections that either requires you to either to go up to one of the other floors and down the other side to get the the other half of the ground floor. Other than that the store is ok if not having that slightly dated feel to it. Staff are friendly and helpful
An Old School department store, worth exploring. Loads of bargains in every department. It comprehensively covers all bsses from houseware to clothes. It's not self consciously fashionable and welcoming. Seems to have an older clientele, but it suits the discerning eye very well.
Have a couple of local stores but this one in Glasgow is a lot bigger so always nice to have a look here. My sister and I had a lovely lunch in the Willow tearoom on 3rd floor, nice and relaxing with lovely staff and very tasty food. Strawberry tart was delicious!
A great "old" place to shop, what you find different in Watt brothers are the customers inside, mostly older folk. By the way this is a sign of quality and good bargains. You can find some really good bargains at times.
LOVE this place!! Esp for unique Scottish gifts. I can get so much more for my friends and family for my money... recently paid 1/4 of the price for beautiful Scottish crystal.
Usual Watt brothers. Sauchiehall/Hope Street, their largest store. Bargains to be had... luck of the draw. They often have good, useful, interesting stuff. If seeking something specific, phone beforehand to check. Nice Rennie Mackintosh tea-room...
