I find Waterstones to be a little over rated. It is generally well run and the staff are helpful but there is not much exciting about the experience. The specialist books are sometimes limited depending which store you go to. The range of fiction, crime novels and popular subjects like cookery are highly represented. Some interesting if slightly gimmicky gifts. Book tokens are a mainstay buy. An ok shop that I use a fair bit but I rarely go wow.
