Beautiful store. It has the most beautiful fireplace to sit and read your recently purchased books, even order tea or lunch, and sit in front of. There's a rewards program to which you donate your books and receive a discount on your next purchase, which I will definitely be taking advantage of. My only gripe is that there are no newer titles and the genre layout isn't the best.
Harkens the days of my youth spent indulging my passion for reading and searching for my next paperback. My discovery of Waterstones is refreshing as I'm not a Amazon devotee. Call me a relic if you will and meet me at the bookstore. I'll be here! I've ordered hard to find books here with relish and never disappointed. Old World value for money spent.
As Morpeth is a market town Waterstones is understandably a smaller branch and so can't be expected to hold as many copies of books, goods etc. However, this does not detract from their nicely laid out and welcoming shop. I have to specifically commend their very helpful and committed staff. Before Christmas the shop was really busy and full of people. A lovely lady went above and beyond to find me what was probably the last copy of the latest Great British Bake Off book a gift for my huband who is a wonderful baker. I couldn't find it where it had originally been placed as the book had likely been picked up by someone and put down in another part of the crowded shop, but this lady searched, found and brought it to me. I was extremely grateful especially as the shop was understandably so hectic at Christmas time. Thank you for such excellent customer service. My husband was delighted too that he received this as one of his gifts on Christmas morning!
A medium sized store, but well laid out & the staff are very knowledgeable & friendly. If your book is not available, then it can be quickly ordered. Local book signings are arranged, which is really pleasing.
Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Got lots of Christmas presents and more inspiration than just looking at the online shop although both are good for browsing

Exelant shop and the choice of books for all taste reasonably priced and learning toys for kids of all ages. Staff are very helpful if they haven't got what your looking for they will order it and phone you when it comes into the shop . Like the feel and smell of a paper book instead of the Electronics Thanks Waterstones .
Lovely little book shop but unless you're after well known authors/ highly promoted ones the store just isn't big enough. I went with a list of books written by four widely read authors and couldn't find anything by them on the shelves. Still managed to spend a fortune but not on what I went for. I realise I could maybe order them but it's a bit of a trek to keep going back. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable.
