Such a special place. A beautiful boardwalk lines the lower side of the park and along the old river with its steep banks and the roots of trees running down to it. Stunning views to the South Downs from the top. Most of the park is left to nature with paths cut out through the fields of butter cups, daisies and wild grasses. Stunning!
A great place to walk and enjoy the beautiful sweeping landscape. It’s really well kept and maintained. There’s a nice boardwalk to explore the wetter fields. Lots of lovely sculptures too. There’s few benches and picnic tables. Also a tap to refill your bottle water!
A lovely park with sculptures dotted about. There are informative plaques along the path which tell of its history - for example, it was the site of an iron forge in the medieval era and a manor house used to stand on the land, owned by Lord Walsh.
Great walk for family with kids
Nice walk, can take route on boardwalks or off. Maps and info dotted around the route and a few benches. Bit of litter here and there, not many bins however doubt the people who left the rubbish would know what a bin is.
This park is easy to travel along in winter, having many hard pathways. It also has the occasional sculpture along the ways. It is also contains a medieval site that had a moat. It's also a safe place to let dogs off the lead and in places there are good views of the surrounding landscape.
Excellent park, great for dog walking but be aware that there is only a small temporary car park at the moment. There is ongoing construction of the wooden walkway but this doesn't impact the marked paths too much. The layout is very good, and as the trees mature the more formal path and seating areas will be really special. Even if you don't have a dog the views over the downs are worth a visit alone.
Great place to walk the dogs in winter, no boots required. Much of it seems very wheelchair friendly
What a hidden gem. Absolutely lovely circular walk with great views - perfect for dogs.
It is a bit hard to find this place and find somewhere to park but once found it is a real gem for dog walkers. Absolutely brilliant
