Wow we have just got back from 3 nights stay at this wonderful campsite. Julie and her hubby are very welcoming the best thing is it's adult only which makes it a very peaceful stay. It's dog friendly too. The toilets are immaculate. We had a beautiful pitch no 11 looking right over to the horses and sheep. No tents in front of us to block our view . And it was a nice flat area too so we didn't roly poly on the slope haha. Top camp site we will definately be coming back . Pitch 11 please Restrooms: We're immaculate and creepy crawly free Dog-friendliness: Very dog friendly , dogs must be kept on a lead . Picnic area: Lots of pic nic benches around , and a nice pond to fish at.
Had a 2 night stay here with my Husband dogs and friends. A very well run site super organised and very clean facilities. The site has large pitches and there is a small fishing lake area to walk the dogs around Next door is a vineyard and u can pop in for a wine tasting. There are fire pits to use with kindling and logs for £8.00 very reasonable. A beautiful site very peaceful and a joy to stay at we enjoyed it that much have already booked another weekend. Highly recommended a little jet not to be missed!!!
Excellent dog friendly, quiet with hot showers, topped off with friendly hosts. What more could you ask for? To be honest, if we were to setup a campsite, this would be the perfect template. Def look forward to returning, but for longer than just a night next time. Thx
Lovely site, very clean and tidy with ample sized pitches. The facilities are spotless and cleaned multiple times a day. There is only two showers one male and one female, although we didn't have a queue we did avoid 'peak' washing times. The owners were very friendly and always on hand to help or chat. Some lovey local walks. It can get windy as the view across the valley is nice there is no protection from the elements so a wind break would be advised. Would definitely be happy to return and it was very reasonable which made it a very pleasurable experience for all. Thank you!
We have stayed at Idle Hours three times and just love it. It is very peaceful, quiet and relaxed. Julie and Paul are so welcoming. The sight is immaculately clean. We loved being able to have a campfire and go fishing. A perfect stay for a few days for total relaxation.
Lovely site for adults over 25 only and dogs as long as you keep on lead! Small and quiet, no music or noise after 11pm, hire a fire pit and drink coca in utter peace! Mainly grass pitches and some gravel ones, no electricity but there's gas heated water and solar lighting. There's a washing up hut with hot water, a shower and toilet facilities which are all kept in very good condition by the on site management. Nice touches of well maintained ground and flower pots make it a pretty place. All looked after by a lovely couple who are very welcoming. The site is good for walking and nature. This site deserves total respect.
Loved it!! My partner and I decided to have a night away on the bike and after searching for a campsite that allows fires no where lets you?! selected Idle Hours. The reception we got was warm and friendly and we immediately felt welcome. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed and Paul helped us get our fire going we are city folks!. It was a lovely nights stay in a beautiful setting that is rural enough to feel out with nature but close enough to shops that you can pop out for some bits or grab a curry literally less than 2 miles. Absolutely lovely campsite, we had such a great stay. It's super quiet, the owners are really friendly and all the facilities are kept very clean. We'll definitely be coming back
This is my new favourite campsite. From the moment you arrive Julie is so warm and helpful. Just a perfect little spot to relax for a weekend. Will definitely be back.
Had a great weekend on this chilled campsite with my mates. Facilities spotlessly clean, fire pits Avaliable and Chinese or Indian that deliver to your pitch. Julie and her family are very friendly and welcoming. Big pitches that are very well maintained and fresh eggs, bacon and sausages available on request from the local farmer. There are 2 little ponds we fished on and had a few little carp and load of small silver fish. Will definitely be heading back there.
