Excellent service as always in Waitrose Thatcham. When my son who has Type 1 diabetes had a hypo just outside the store, they brought him in and sat him down. They gave him a sugary drink and wouldn't let me pay for it. The lady was really kind. I shop there often and the staff are always really helpful. It brightens my day going into Waitrose!

Went to restaurant with a friend. Staff gave nice welcome. Gave order. Coffees given straight away and soup given at same time. Staff member brought toasted teacake to table. Soup was delicious - found it was sold on shop floor and Waitrose own make.

On the whole very friendly and helpful staff, though it is VERY annoying when you are queuing at the checkout and the person behind the till spends TEN - FIFTEEN MINUTES chatting to their neighbour/friend that they have just FINISHED serving, instead of actually getting on with their job and serving ALL the customers in a timely fashion! They do notice if regular customers don't come in for a while and were very concerned when my husband went in there often without me as I was very ill in hospital. Several of them remarked on my re-emergence from my sick bed.

I had the experience of thinking my phone had been stolen in the store. The staff at the help desk were brilliant, so kind and helpful. As we were preparing to contact the police, a man handed in my phone. Phew!!

Some of the staff on the shop floor and Tills are just Rude Restaurant staff very nice.
