Restaurant was busy but service was very good. Candy took great care of us. She answered our questions and gave us suggestions. Food was amazing and drinks were very good. We really enjoyed the prime rib and the warm butter cake! The garlic mashed potatoes were amazing. A great end for our evening.Food: 5/5
Decided to try for lunch based on google reviews. We were not disappointed. All of the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was great! We had the onion dip appetizer, pimento BLT, steak tacos & peanut butter chocolate pie. Everything was delicious and presented nicely. Highly recommend!Food: 5/5

More than just great food…….the service from Leigh was just awesome. In the five days we spent in Birmingham, we ate at Village Tavern four times………always asking for Leigh. There are just so many wonderful things on the menu……Leigh always points us in the right direction…….and giving us some great options. Anne loves so many of the fish dishes……..the halibut fixed different ways, and every time it’s fabulous. The prime rib…….was so tender…..probably the best I’ve ever had. The Delmonico steak was just beyond perfect. When we entertain guests, this is our go to place. Special thanks to Leigh…..and all the very hard working people in the kitchen. Our waiter Jaree was excellent and very friendly. Party of 3 we had reservation which we were late for, but it wasn't needed since they had no wait time. We all had the blackened chicken alfredo, which was very good, and it wasn't dry like some restaurants alfredo can be. To drink had the cherry lemon drop, which was very delicious if you love lemon drops. Definitely recommend trying the different flavors of lemon drops. They are not listed on the menu, so you have to ask what flavors are available when you visit.
I visited before and the food was amazing. My second visit was underwhelming. Zucchini squash had way too many tomatoes, undercooked, and not seasoned at all. To go Shrimp & Grits barely had any grits. Maybe it was an off night. Server was great.
It was my first time visiting and the whole experience was top notch. The wait staff was on first rate. The food was excellent. Couldn't ask for a better experience.Food: 5/5
This was my first time being here as well as my bf’s. It was great!! Natasha our server was excellent! She gave us great service, was very attentive, speedy, and very pleasant. She helped me make decisions on my drink choices when I was between two, and also recommended any of the steaks which me and my bf got. Loved the staff from the hosts, Natasha our server, the gentleman who helped her bring our food out and the other gentleman who stopped cleaning tables to answer my question about where the ladies room was. We had great food, as well as drinks! The atmosphere was great, as we sat next to the fireplace in a booth for a more intimate dinner/conversation. Thank you for taking care of us Village Tavern! We will be back.
